Promote the event in your store calendar, newsletter, or local newspaper. Notify your customers, local schools, libraries, and after-school groups, etc. Make a list of all the materials that you might need, such as crayons, pencils, pencil sharpeners, masking tape, string, plastic spoons, shoeboxes, stinky socks, catsup (but not ketchup), etc.... 604,800 seconds ahead (One week ahead) Get even sillier. Photocopy the reproducible activity sheets. Make sure you ve got enough for everyone (plus some extras, just in case). Make arrangements to have materials listed above for the event. Decide which reproducible activities you will use and which group activities you will do, and think about what order you would like to do the activities in. More reproducible activities can be found on www.simonsayskids.com/gisforonegzonk. Event day By now, you should be the silliest you ve ever been, which will be perfect for this event. Double-check handouts and have them waiting nearby for easy distribution. Once all the guests arrive, read G is for One Gzonk! aloud to get everyone feeling sufficiently silly (Use silly voices kids like that). Pass out the reproducible activity sheets. Activity Sheet TWENTY-SEVENTH LETTER OF THE ALPHABET As smart as you are, I m sure you re aware there are 26 letters in our alphabet (aren t there?) But other languages are different, you see. The Greek alphabet has 24, the Russian, 33. Imagine you could add a new letter to our alphabet. What might it look like or sound like? And what words would you spell with it? My new letter is: It sounds like: A word with my new letter: Meaning of new word:

Activity Sheet BLOOBYTACK MEMORY Grabbing goodies off the floor, the snooping Bloobytack puts every object he can find upon his sticky back! And furthermore, the Bloobytack can recall every item he collects! His memory s become quite sharp from years of collecting odd objects. How does your memory compare? Put it to the test and look for pairs! DIRECTIONS: Carefully pull apart the perforated Bloobytack Memory Cards from the two sheets included in the event kit. To play, lay the cards facedown in a random order. Take turns flipping over one card and then trying to find the match. For every match you make, you keep the pair and continue playing. If you re wrong, your turn is over. The game ends when all the pairs have been found. The winner is the player with the most pairs.

Activity Sheet WHO S THE HOOFLE-FOOFLE? There s more to the hungry Hoofle-Foofle than at first you might have guessed. This is not the first book he s appeared in, I really must confess! No, the Hoofle-Foofle sometimes goes by another name. I cannot tell it to you, but you ll find out if you play this game! DIRECTIONS: To find out what the Hoofle-Foofle s other name is, find the hidden names in the puzzle and cross them out. Names are hidden horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and backward. Once you ve found all the names and crossed them out, circle the remaining letters and write them in the blanks to reveal the hidden message! He bounces 400 days a year (and even more in May). He bounces 50 zillion times in his 30-hour day! Are you up for a challenge? Can you tackle this game? After a Yellow Yummel-Yum puzzle, you might never be the same! DIRECTIONS: Try to fill in the missing numbers in the circles. Each row is a math equation work from left to right.
