Sand again when dry and remove sanding dust with a damp towel. With a drybrush, highlight the center open areas of the background with Light French Blue. Shade the top of the light stripes with Milk Chocolate and highlight the bottom of them with Titanium White. Shade the top of the red stripes with Antique Maroon and highlight them with Hot Shots Fiery Red. Shade the bottom of the sunflower center with Espresso and then with Soft Black. Highlight the center top of the sunflower center with a drybrush of Antique White and then Light Mocha. Shade the bottom of the small sunflower petals with Burnt Sienna and then with Soft Black. Highlight the tips of the small petals with Marigold. Shade the bottom of the large sunflower petals with Burnt Sienna and highlight the tips with Primary Yellow. Transfer the lettering to the sunflower center and line the letters with Antique White. Add thin lines of Lamp Black to the left sides of the letters and highlight the letters on the right sides with Titanium White. Outline the design as necessary with Lamp Black. The large dots on the black stripe between the sunflower petals and center are Honey Brown and the smaller ones are Marigold. Sampler Note Holder Section 1: Shade the bottom of the star with Espresso and highlight the top with Titanium White. Drybrush highlights in the center of each patch as follows: top patch=hot Shots Fiery Red; right patch=light Mocha; bottom patch=avocado Dip; left patch=primary Yellow. Shade the corners and against the star in each patch as follows: top patch=soft Black; right patch=deep Midnight Blue; bottom patch=hauser Dark Green; left patch=burnt Sienna. The stitches around the star and between patches are Lamp Black. Section 2: Shade around the section with Milk Chocolate and highlight the open areas around the watermelon with Light Mocha. Shade the ends if the rind with Hauser Dark Green and highlight the center bottom of the rind with Avocado Dip. Shade the ends of the light stripe No. 331407 Page 2

with Espresso. Shade the bottom of the meat with Antique Maroon and highlight the center of the meat with Hot Shots Fiery Red. Outline as necessary and add the seeds with Lamp Black. Highlight the seeds with small dashes of Titanium White. Section 3: Shade around the star with Espresso and highlight the centers of the outside area and tips of the star points with Titanium White. Shade the inside points of the light star points with French Grey Blue and the inside points of the dark star points with Lamp Black. The stitches are Lamp Black. Section 4: Shade around the section with Milk Chocolate and highlight the open areas around the flowers with Light Mocha. Shade the top & bottom of the stems with Hauser Dark Green and dash a highlight of Avocado Dip on the right side of each stem. Shade the bottom of the centers with Burnt Sienna and highlight the tops with Primary Yellow. Highlight the tops of the flowers with Light Mocha. Shade the bottom of the lilac flower with French Grey Blue; the bottom of the blue flower with Deep Midnight Blue; and the bottom of the peach flower with Rookwood Red. Outline as necessary and add small dots around the centers with Lamp Black. Add small dot highlights of Titanium White to the upper right of the centers. Section 5: Shade around the section with Milk Chocolate and highlight the open areas around the heart with Light Mocha. Shade the bottom of the heart with Antique Maroon and highlight the top of the heart with Hot Shots Fiery Red. The curly line is Hauser Dark Green. Add stitches around the heart with Lamp Black. Section 6: Shade the bottom of the large yellow dots with Burnt Sienna. Add primitive stitches using Light Mocha around the yellow dots, and primitive stitches using Lamp Black around the smaller dots. Flag: Shade both sides of the field with Lamp Black and drybrush a highlight in the center of the circle of stars with Light French Blue. Shade both ends of the light stripes with Espresso and highlight the center with Titanium White. Shade both ends of the red stripes with Soft Black and highlight the center with Hot Shots Fiery Red. Stitches between stripes and around field are Lamp Black. Section 7: The patches in this section are all shaded on both sides and highlighted in the centers as follows: A- shade=burnt Sienna; highlight=primary Yellow B- shade=espresso; highlight=titanium White C- shade=deep Midnight Blue; highlight=light French Blue D- shade=soft Black; highlight=hot Shots Fiery Red E- shade=hauser Dark Green; highlight=avocado Dip F- shade=antique Maroon; highlight=hot Shots Fiery Red G- shade=burnt Sienna; highlight=primary Yellow H- shade=lamp Black; highlight=light French Blue Stitches between patches are Lamp Black. Section 8: Shade around the section with Milk Chocolate and highlight the open areas around the pineapple with Light Mocha. Shade the base of all leaves with Hauser Dark Green and highlight the tips with Avocado Dip. Shade around the pineapple with Burnt Sienna and highlight the center with Marigold and then Primary Yellow. The cross-hatch stitching on the pineapple is Burnt Sienna. Outline the leaves and pineapple with Lamp Black. Checks: Shade one side of the light checks with Milk Chocolate and highlight the other with Light Mocha. Notes Section: Highlight the center of this section with Light Mocha and shade around the edges with Milk Chocolate. Transfer the pattern for the letters and line them with Lamp Black. Highlight the broad parts of the letters with dash highlights of Light Mocha. Finishing: The stitches between and around all sections are Lamp Black. Finish with several coats of DecoArt DuraClear Varnish Matte. Insert the 4 X6 paper in the box. No. 331407 Page 4
