TIP 1: Upload Your App into Top Stores Now, the first thing is to upload your app into some of the top Android app stores. I know this pretty much sounds like a given, but you want to upload your app into the Google Play store FIRST. I ve had a lot of success uploading my apps into other third party app platforms as well. That would be: Samsung, Mobile9, Amazon, Get Jar, App Brain, and Mobo Genie. Those are just a few. There are about 20 of them. The most success I ve had, were mainly with Samsung and Mobile9. Amazon is coming on strong and Get Jar is pretty good as well. And again, this is a must to get your apps noticed. Now there s also link called joyofandroid.com, that s a good link just as a reference to give you a list of some of the third party application platforms that you could use. TIP 2: Convert Your App into Other Languages Convert your app into various other languages. With Google, it s pretty cool, you have the ability in the Google Store once you re in your Google Developer account to convert from a list of languages you get to choose from. What I do many times is, at the very least, when I upload an app into the app-store, I convert it to at least 10-15 of the top languages. So for example, for the last application I had, which is a rollercoaster wallpaper, all I do after I upload everything is convert the app into languages for some of the most popular countries for apps. I would convert the language to Russian, South American (Spanish/ Portuguese), and also Korean, to name a few. I would do at least 10-15 different languages. I would also do French, German, and again, what s nice about the Google Developer platform is that they actually tell you the top countries in your category to convert to. It s actually in the Google Developer account. You re basically given a cheat sheet once you re in the account of the best countries to convert languages for. So this is definitely something that needs to be done. You ll notice once you do this, that you will get more installs, because more people from other countries can read and understand the capabilities of your application and with that, are installing your app. Now, a way to get this converted for free, is to go to Google Translate. Google Translate will translate anything that you have automatically into that language for free. And that s what I typically do. However, Google Developer also has an option where you can hire a third party service through Google to do this. However, I do not recommend it because Google is very expensive and they charge a very large fee. I think somewhere around $75 per language translation. So, it s really not worth it. I would suggest just doing it yourself. It s a free service to use Google Translate, or just hire somebody on Fiverr for $5, and they ll do it as well. Copyright Invisible App Machine. TIP 3: Create Promo Banners and Videos The 3rd tip is to create various banner designs and layouts. Once you upload apps into the app store, you re going to have the option of uploading designs, such as banners and real-time screenshots. This is all a must. You want to make sure you create all the different size options of designs. You want to create a cool design, which will get more quality traffic to your site. When I ve created cool looking icons and cool looking banner designs, I get much more interaction and many more installs, because of the cool designs I have in the Google Developer account. Also, I always create a video, whether it s a tutorial or it s just a cool promotional video. First, you upload it into YouTube, and then you take the YouTube link and you upload it into the Google Developer store. This also gives you a ranking boost and it gives you more views, because not only are people seeing you in the Google Play store, but they re seeing you in the YouTube store. Based on my experience, I ve noticed that Google incentivizes you for adding YouTube videos, and in many ways, I think I ve gotten a lot more traffic because of it. Copyright Invisible App Machine. TIP 4: Promoting and Buying Reviews The fourth promotion tool is that I also buy reviews on Fiverr (and some other platforms as well.) I typically use Fiverr for this when I first install an app into the app-store. I want to make sure that I give an app a boost with reviews. And reviews are very important. You can hire people on freelance sites, and I would also get your friends and family right away to install your app and write a review. The key is that you want to have some nice reviews in your app store to get it going. It gives your app a boost. Copyright Invisible App Machine. All Rights Reserved. Page 8 of 12
TIP 5: Buy Some Traffic You want to buy some traffic. Now this is optional. I ve done this on some apps, and then other apps I haven t, and I just had as much success. There are certain apps I ve created where I never paid one penny for traffic and made more money than on other apps where I did buy traffic. And sometimes, I ve had a ton of success buying traffic for certain apps. So it s kind of a 50-50. I would recommend in the beginning just to test it. Maybe, buy a little bit of traffic to see how it works for a particular app. You can buy traffic through Facebook, through Google, or some of the smaller networks like Tap Joy, Applovin', or Startapp. So you can buy installs for as little as 20 cents an install. Sometimes to give your app a small boost, it s definitely worth a shot. Copyright Invisible App Machine. All Rights Reserved. Page 9 of 12
TIP 6: Use Keywords You want to make sure you have the keyword of your product (of your app) in your app name and in the description. You don t want to stuff keywords too much into your description, you want to make sure it sounds natural. You want to make sure that you mention the keyword at least anywhere from 3-4 times at the most, or else its considered keyword stuffing. However, I have noticed success when the keyword you re trying to get across, such as rollercoaster in my case as an example, is included in the app name and description. You want to make sure that you have the keyword in your app, and of course in your app name, and in some cases I d even put the keyword in the APK file, which is the file itself. I ve noticed that in some cases, I get higher rankings because the keyword is actually embedded into the file of the app that I created, and this is also something that you should test yourself. TIP 7: Give Your App Away Free at First The seventh promo tip is to give your app away for free in the beginning, and in turn build a large user base. So in most cases, when I create an app, I give it away for free. I never ever, very rarely in the beginning, charge anybody to install my app. If you do, you re limiting yourself, and in most cases, you will fail. The key is to get as many users to install your app, fast and quick, so that you can build up rankings, and you can build up a strong review and user base. And eventually if you want to charge someone for your app, once your app is popular, then that s something you can consider doing a few months down the road. However in the beginning, I would not charge anything, I would give the app away for free, and build up a movement for it. And in some cases, I do charge what s called a "Freemium" where you give the certain parts of the app for free, but if they want to use the full app, then they have to pay a certain price, anywhere from $1-2, or 99 cents. TIP 8: Do a Press Release Last but not least, you can write a press release to promote the app. Now, I m not a press release writer, so I hire people on either Upwork or Fiverr. There are many, many different companies and people that specialize in press releases. This is a good way to promote your app from time to time, especially in the beginning. There are many services that do this, but some of the best ones are PR Web, SP Wire, Market Wired, and App Shout. That s just to name a few. But I have noticed many cases, when I use SP Wire or PR Web, I will even see my apps showing my promotion, the articles to promote my app, showing up in news outlets and in big digital forums that have millions of users. And so it s pretty impressive to see that. So I definitely suggest it, it s very affordable. You can get press releases done for as little as $15. So, these are the top 8 pointers that I would suggest you use to get your app boosted, and drive more users to it. Regards, Daniel Rosenfield Copyright Invisible App Machine. All Rights Reserved.
