City of Vaughan Engineering Department DESIGN STANDARD DRAWINGS March 2004
STANDARD DRAWINGS Partners With The Environment March 2004
FORWARD The March 2004 version of the City of Vaughan Design Standard Drawings represents a major revision to the Standard Drawings and a change of approach to the creation and maintenance of Standard Drawings. With this version, the Engineering and Public Works Departments have replaced several existing standards with the equivalent standard from the Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (O.P.S.D.). The City of Vaughan acknowledges the use of the O.P.S.D., which are being used more extensively across the province to standardize roads, sewers and watermain infrastructure details, thereby reducing confusion and cost incurred by Contractors and Developers in the various municipalities. We note that the City s Design Standard Drawings are unique to the City of Vaughan and therefore supercede the equivalent O.P.S.D. in all respects unless approval is received in writing from the Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works. 03/25/2004 STANDARD DRAWINGS - Page 1
GENERAL The Design Standard Drawings presented are meant to be read in conjunction with the City of Vaughan Design Criteria Document. Changes and revisions will be made to the Design Standard Drawings and Design Criteria from time to time. It is the responsibility of the Developer or Consulting Engineer to obtain and make use of the latest versions available at the time of design. The Developer and / or Consulting Engineer are responsible to ensure that all construction work is carried out in full compliance with the current editions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. If no standard drawing is provided by the City of Vaughan Engineering or Public Works Departments in this document, the Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (O.P.S.D.) are to be consulted. In the event that the O.P.S.D. do not have the required standard the Developer and / or Consulting Engineer are responsible to provide the Engineering and Public Works Departments with the proposed standard in hard copy form, and must receive from the Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works written approval to use the proposed standard prior to the submission of any design drawings. 03/25/2004 STANDARD DRAWINGS - Page 2
