ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Gable Ends Center Truss (5x7 & larger) Hardware Package Quant. Item 124 screws 123 screws many Finishing nails 1 Torxs bit 1 Locate the two gable ends and also the center truss (supplied only with 5x7 & larger saunas). With the tongue & groove facing outward, place the 2 gable ends on the existing top of the sauna room. Make sure the tongue & groove on the gable ends lines up perfectly flush with the tongue & groove on the outside of the sauna room. The center truss will be located directly in between the front & back gable ends. 2 Run 3 screws through the 2x4 frame of the gable ends and into the existing sauna top. Sections of the tongue & groove have been removed for this purpose (these will be replaced in a later step). Run a few more screws along here. Do not screw here. 3/8 3 Once the gable ends are fastened, fasten the center truss (if supplied). Position the center truss directly in-between the 2 gable ends. Screw it into place using 3 screws. Make sure to leave at least 3/8 of space from the ends of the truss. Run four screws down through the truss and into the existing sauna top to fasten it securely.
PAGE 2 4 With help from 2 or more people, you can now place either of the 2 roof panels into position. Each of the 2 roof panels have been marked for proper orientation. Refer to steps 5 & 6 before fastening. 5 Align the roof panel along the peak of the gable ends and center truss (if provided). Refer to step 6 before fastening. 6 The front overhang needs to be 16 from the face of the gable end to the inside of the facia board. If this is done properly, the back overhang will be approximately 6 to 8. When making these adjustments, be sure the panel remains aligned properly along the peak as shown in step #5.
PAGE 3 7 Making sure the panel is held into place, you can now fasten it down using 4 screws. Run the screws up through the openings in the tongue and groove, through the 2x4 framework of the gable ends, and into the underside of the roof panel. If the panel is oriented properly, your screws will hit the internal framework of the roof panel for strength & stability. 8 Install the 2nd roof panel in the same manner as the first following steps 4-7. 9 After the roof panels are securely fastened, you can replace the tongue & groove pieces on the gable ends. These have been modified so that they can easily be replaced simply by sliding the tongue into position first, followed by the modified groove. Fasten with finishing nails along the top & bottom. 10 The first step in applying the roof cap is to put down the tar paper which comes with the kit. Center it along the peak of the roof and fasten it with staples.
PAGE 4 11 The roof cap consists of two 1/2 boards that are longer than your roof to ensure a custom finished look. Cut these boards to the length of your roof. Place the first board flush with the peak and fasten in place with provided finishing nails. Then overlap with the top piece Apply the bottom piece first Place the second board overlapping the first board to create a finished ridge cap Using the provided finishing nails, tack the second board into the first board Securely fasten remainder of board into the roof panel using finishing nails. Cut away all the excess tar paper with a sharp utility knife. 12 After the roof is complete, you can add the trim to provide your sauna with a clean, finished look. The underside trim in steps 12 & 13 will need to be cut to length. Fasten the trim with provided finishing nails.
PAGE 5 13 After the trim in step 13 is applied, you can put the underside peak trim on. Cut it to proper length and fasten it with provided finishing nails. Trim for both front and backside 14 The last piece of trim will go on both the front and back of the sauna. Fasten it with provided finishing nails.
