Safety Notices Do Not Use Holder if Damaged AimRight Sensor holders are carefully inspected before they are shipped for normal use. In the unlikely event of mechanical damage either prior to or during shipment, discard the holder and do not use it. Always Use Sheaths with Holders Use protective sheaths every time the Sensor is used. Never use a damaged sheath. Always dispose of the sheath after every patient. Protective sheaths are single-use devices and must not be reused under any circumstance. Reuse of single-use devices/instruments may cause them to become contaminated, compromise their intended function, and result in patient and user infection, injury and/or illness. Steam Autoclave Cleaning and Sterilization The parts of the positioning system must be cleaned and sterilized after each patient. For details and appropriate steps regarding product cleaning and sterilization, please refer to Section 4. Symbols Sirona Dental products display a number of markings which indicate compliance with regulatory requirements or which provide information in accordance with applicable technical standards. SYMBOL DESCRIPTION Indicates an attention to users to consult accompanying documents (this User Guide) for more information Conforms to European Union Medical Devices Directive (MDD) 93/42/EEC Indicates the use of steam or dry heat as the method of sterilization ii B1051083 Rev. A AimRight Holder System

1. Introduction 1.1. Welcome AimRight holders are available to optimize the Sensor placement provided by Schick WiFi Interfaces. Like Sirona Dental adhesive-style holders, the AimRight system is color-coded for easy, intuitive placement. Rounded edges and corners around the holders significantly increase comfort for your patients during positioning so you can perform your work efficiently and with greater satisfaction. 1.2. AimRight Holder Systems AimRight systems consist of aiming rings and positioning arms and holders. They can accommodate Schick Elite Sensors, size 1 and size 2 and can be repositioned as needed during the patient exam. They must be sterilized prior to use with the next patient. AimRight holders may be autoclaved and additional details regarding autoclave sterilization may be found in Section 4. Refer to Sections 3.1 through 3.5 for information on using AimRight holders. 1.3. Using Sensor Sheaths AimRight Holders must always be used with Sensor sheaths, which serve as a deterrent against cross-contamination. Sheaths are available for size 1 and size 2 Sensors. When placing the sheath over the Sensor, make sure the Sensor is inserted completely into the sheath. The sheath should fit snugly over the Sensor with the seams of the sheath lined up along the edge of the Sensor not across the flat imaging area. PLEASE NOTE: In the event that a sensor sheath tears while it is being used, discard the sheath immediately and replace it with a new one. AimRight Holder System B1051083 Rev. A 1

4. Cleaning and Sterilizing Parts 4.1. Introduction 4.2. Procedure Prior to use, always cover the Sensor with a disposable hygienic protective cover before inserting the Sensor into the holder. Discard cover after use. After use with a patient, the parts of the positioning system must be cleaned and sterilized. DO NOT AUTOCLAVE SENSORS. 1. Disassemble instrument(s). 2. Remove debris from components with hot water and soap. Clean grooves and holes using an appropriate brush ensuring that full depth of the feature is reached for complete removal of any soil. 3. Put components in sterilization pouches, and place in the middle tray of the autoclave, away from autoclave walls and heating element. Plastic parts must be in a separate pouch from metal arms to avoid melting or warping. 4. Cycle per autoclave manufacturer s instructions. Do not exceed 270 F (132 C). DO NOT use phenol-based glutaraldehyde. DO NOT use special application or ultrasonic cleaners. DO NOT CHEMICLAVE or DRY-HEAT STERILIZE. DO NOT cold sterilize. Note: Plastic parts have a limited life and should be replaced periodically. A holder that has warped and cannot hold the Sensor securely in place, or is misaligned with the aiming ring, should be replaced. Any method of sterilization will shorten the life of plastic parts. 8 B1051083 Rev. A AimRight Holder System
