Flat roof fastening systems for steel deck 3 Today, more than ever, it is essential that the mechanical fastening of insulation and membrane on flat roofs is both fast and efficient. It is equally imperative that these fasteners are installed correctly and thereby function properly throughout the expected life of the roof construction. Flat roof fastening systems are subjected to a wide range of thermal, static and dynamic stresses. Correct design is therefore essential to ensure that required performance criterion is achieved. Excellent corrosion resistance is also critical, with environment-friendly coatings of increasing importance. SFS intec have been setting the standards for fastener performance in flat roof applications for many years. The complete fastening systems offer quality, cost effective and innovative fastening solutions. A treadfast fastener and stress plate combination ensures that the system is safe to walk on Most of the products are available in austenitic stainless steel A complete system featuring the IF240 setting tool for rapid fixing of magazine loaded fasteners Maximum corrosion resistance with safe, chromium VI-free Durocoat coatings A significant part of the installation cost lies in the manual handling of the fasteners. The IF240 setting tool features automatic feeding of the fasteners and stress plates. This provides a completely automated and controlled installation process from beginning to end. The result is that the subsequent installation speed is many times faster than traditional means and the process offers substantial ergonomic benefits to the installer. Should fastener applications be required in a corrosive atmosphere (for example within environments of high relative humidity, in acid or waste treatment plants, chloride or marine environments), austenitic stainless steel fasteners are recommended. For other applications, the Durocoat chromium VI-free surface coating offers excellent protection, whilst meeting exacting current environmental standards. 3. 2

Flat roof fastening systems for timber deck The new SFS intec system is a revolutionary, non-penetrating field fastening system for flat roofs. follows on from the triedand-trusted and systems in offering another economical, secure and permanent method of fixing insulation material and membranes on flat roofs. The system, developed entirely by SFS intec, is ideal for PVC, TPO and EPDM membranes. The stress plates used to secure the insulation to the roof are welded to it by inductive heating, creating a non-penetrating connection. The weld is achieved using the 3000 induction tool, developed in-house, which is equipped with an array of safety functions.
