assuredcommunications RF-5800M/U Multiband Radio Family

TALON Secure Ground-to-air Communication Through partnership with Rockwell Collins, Falcon II's secure, anti-jam communications can be extended to aircraft fitted with the industryleading RT-8100 TALON series multiband radio. Harris RF-5800M-MP or RF-5800U-MP transceivers can be optionally supplied with Rockwell's frequency-hopped waveform in the UHF frequency band. Likewise, Rockwell Collins RT-8100 transceivers can be supplied with the Harris Quicklook 1A frequency-hopped waveform in the VHF band. Digital security provided by Citadel encrypts all transmissions, keeping critical voice and data completely private. The result? Integrated, jam-resistant battlespace communications securely extended to military aircraft for air support, insertion/evacuation, or re-supply missions. Please contact your Harris representative for additional information. Your mission is to save lives. Ours is to make sure you succeed. When your mission is to save lives, there is no room for error. Just as you depend on your fellow military comrades to execute a mission, you depend on your communication equipment as well. The RF-5800 multiband family of radios allows you to get the job done reliably, no matter what the mission. The RF-5800 Falcon II multiband radio family has an expansive frequency range covering 30 to 512 MHz. This comprehensive coverage includes frequency bands and MIL-STD mandatory modulation modes for combat net radio operations, close air support, long-range patrol, and government LMR. This makes the RF-5800 multiband family ideal for all joint communication operations. The modular RF-5800M and RF-5800U radios easily accommodate new technology and upgrades. The system takes advantage of a digital platform built to accommodate future waveforms based on 8.33, 12.5, and 25 khz channel spacing through software upgrades. Unlike conventional hardware-based radios, these software-based radios are easily reprogrammed allowing features to be added quickly and cost effectively as customers communication needs evolve.

Multiple bands. Multiple missions. One solution. Multiband UHF Multiband The RF-5800 multiband radio family is a true marriage of radio and computer with reprogrammable software to optimize performance. Tomorrow's technology today Harris Corporation To succeed on the battlefield of the 21st Century, fighting forces require reliable, uncompromised communications. By applying its world-leading HF communications technology to new UHF and multiband tactical digital radios, Harris Corporation is meeting that future demand today. Harris anticipated the need for interoperable communications equipment and introduced a family of tactical radios capable of transmitting voice, data, still image and video in the shortest possible time. The key to this Falcon II family is a common, software-based, digital platform that meets the increasing need for integrated communication systems. At Harris, we know that the need for secure communications can come in all shapes and sizes. That s why our Falcon II radios were designed to provide the highest levels of security and reliability for tactical combat teams. Harris has a full line of multiband/multimission radios including the RF-5800M-MP, RF-5800M-HH, and the RF-5800U-MP. These lightweight radio systems place a softwarebased radio in the hands of the user today. The RF-5800 multiband radio family is a true marriage of radio and computer. The hardware can be reconfigured and software reprogrammed to optimize performance and add capabilities without opening the radio. The digital architecture of the RF-5800 systems ensures upgradability into the future. Our multiband radio family builds on over a decade of experience, concepts, and capabilities of Harris' first-generation, multiband radios. The Harris RF-5800 family of multiband radios is the most advanced software-based radios in the world today.

The small size and weight of the RF-5800M handheld, along with its five watts of power output, enable dismounted troops to have fast, reliable, secure communications in a portable, ruggedized radio. RF-5800M-MP The RF-5800M is an advanced multimode, multimission radio supporting continuous operation across the 30 to 512 MHz frequency range. This allows the RF-5800M to meet mission needs for ground-to-ground, ground-to-air, and ship-to-shore communications links in a single, compact package. Secure voice and data communications are provided with the embedded 16 kbps FSK/ASK modem or the optional embedded high-speed modem. The high-speed modem supports rates up to 64 kbps reducing on-air time for transmissions and enabling high-data-rateapplications such as image transmissions. The built-in Harris Citadel encryption gives the soldier access to high-grade security in voice and data (up to 64 kbps). Local position information is provided via an optional internal GPS receiver eliminating the need to carry a separate receiver. RF-5800M-HH The RF-5800M-HH is a multiband handheld companion to the RF-5800M-MP multiband manpack transceiver. The RF-5800M-HH radio brings the 30 to 512 MHz frequency spectrum used in special operations and platoon-level communications to the squad and individual soldier. By combining four radios in one, the RF-5800M-HH provides: low-band, VHF capabilities for combat net radio; high-band VHF capabilities for public safety and ground-to-air applications; UHF capabilities for military ground-to-air communications; and FM capability for the 450 MHz LMR band (police, fire,etc.). The RF-5800M-HH can quickly shift between line-of- sight, ground-to-ground and UHF ground-to-air communications, enabling multimission operations capability with a single radio. This handheld platform is interoperable with the rest of the Harris Falcon II family of tactical manpack, vehicular, and fixed-station radios. In addition, the RF-5800M-HH has built-in Harris Citadel encryption giving the soldier access to high-grade security in voice and data (up to 16 kbps) communications while on the move.

The Falcon II RF-5800U allows communication over greater range, which reduces the number of radios that soldiers have to carry. RF-5800U-MP The RF-5800U-MP is a software-reprogrammable, digital radio supporting continuous VHF/UHF operation across the 90 to 420 MHz band. The RF-5800U meets the need for both military and civilian ground-to-air communications in a single package, while providing interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems. Voice communication is provided in 8.33, 12.5 and 25 khz channels to support evolving air traffic control standards. The 20-watt FM, 10-watt AM transceiver provides reliable communications over the entire frequency range. HAVEQUICK II electronic counter-counter measures (ECCM) is available as a software option for interoperability with military aircraft. HAVEQUICK time-of-day (TOD) can be obtained from the optional internal GPS receiver. Digital voice and CTCSS-based analog squelch provide interoperability with a wide range of LMR systems. The 100 programmable radio presets let operators easily switch between communication modes during multimission operations. Users can activate the swept frequency beacon, available on any channel, to signal for support when in distress. The radio also features full remote control support, multiband scan, and radio-to-radio preset cloning.
