Guest Speakers Chang Liu, Managing Director for Singapore, Mainland China, and Hong Kong of ACCESS Health International Eyad Zahra, Director of Community of Asia-Pacific region of WeWork Dr. Aunpam Pathak, Director of Technology Department in Verily Life Sciences (Google Life Sciences), Founder and CEO in Lift Labs About Dr. Anupam Pathak Dr. Anupam Pathak is the director of technical department in Verily Life Sciences (Google Life Sciences). He is also the founder and CEO of Lift Labs under this department. Verily Life is in the intersection of technology, data science, and healthcare. It is a medical device company that creates stabilizing technologies to help people with Essential Tremor and Parkinson s disease. One of the main products that Verily Life produces is Lifeware. It is a spoon with anti-flutter design that effectively increases the life quality for Pakinson patients. Dr. Anupam Pathak got his Ph.D. of Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan and B.S. of Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley.
Event Abstract Chang Liu, Managing Director for Singapore, Mainland China, and Hong Kong of ACCESS Health International first gave the opening speech and welcomed all the guests for participating. Mr. Liu briefly introduced the current situation and the development result of Modern Aging program by ACCESS Health. Modern Aging program devotes to building the new ecosystem of aging industry by supporting entrepreneurs and innovative programs to develop new products and services. Dr. Chang Liu delivered the opening speech Afterwards, community director of WeWork, Eyad Zahra gave a welcome speech and introduced the process of WeWork expanding from 300 members to 3000 members in China. WeWork creates the atmosphere for more communication opportunities and ideas exchanging. Doctor Chang Liu presented the book Affordable Excellence as a gift to WeWork to show gratitude. The book illustrates and analyzes stories and cases of healthcare in Singapore, written by William A. Haseltine, Chairman and President of ACCESS Health International.
Eyad Zahra delivered the welcome speech Miss Liu, ACCESS Health China Program Director, introduced the special guest speaker Doctor Anupam Pathak. He is the director of technical department in Verily Life Sciences (Google Life Sciences), and is also the founder and CEO of Lift Labs under this department. The theme topic is Senior Care in China: Challenges and Opportunities. He explains the current situation and development direction of wearable devices in healthcare, raised the idea of design with sympathy and brought his humanistic spoon designed for Parkinson patients. I come to China is to expand Chinese market and to learn more about Chinese policy and healthcare system, said Mr. Pathak. He is looking for collaboration with Chinese companies. Guests took active part in raising questions in Q&A section and showed strong willingness to cooperate and communicate. Finally, Doctor Chang Liu presented the book Aging with Dignity as a gift to Dr. Anupam Pathak. The book illustrates the innovation and the challenge in Sweden healthcare system, written by Sofia Widén and William A. Haseltine from ACCESS Health International.
