No Fowl Play Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 28 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the 22 ½ x 28 ½ Fabric large panel. Sew (1) 3 ½ x 26 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric large panel. Trim the block to measure 25 x 33 ½ to make the Center lock (Fig. 1). C Fig. 1 Trim to measure 25 x 33 ½ after the borders are added 2. Following the manufacturer s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛ outside the drawn lines. 3. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines. 4. Refer to Figure 2 to arrange and press (1) left outer flower, (1) right outer flower, (1) left inner petal set, (1) right inner petal set, (1) left flower center, (1) right flower center, (1) left stem, (1) right stem, (2) left leaves and (2) right leaves onto (1) 6 x 25 Fabric C strip. Top and bottom borders-make 2 dd decorative stitching around the flowers if desired Fig. 2 5. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to make (1) Top/ottom border. Repeat to make a second Top/ottom border. Page 2 7. Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 6). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 7). Sew (1) Unit 1 to the top of (1) Top/ottom border lengthwise. Sew (1) Unit 2 to the bottom of the strip. Sew (1) Fabric Word block to each end of the strip. Sew the resulting strip to the top of the Center lock. 14. Sew (1) Unit 2 to the top of (1) Top/ottom border lengthwise. Sew (1) Unit 1 to the bottom of the strip. Sew (1) Fabric Word block to each end of the strip. Sew the resulting strip to the bottom of the Center lock. 15. Sew (8) Unit 3 s together end to end. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the Center lock. 16. Sew (5) Unit 3 s together end to end. Sew (1) 4 Fabric square to each end of the strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center lock to make the quilt top. 17. Layer and quilt as desired. 18. Sew the (6) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 19. ind as desired.
