Under The Radar Technical Rider Scope This Technical Rider shall define the requirements for the Under The Radar (The Artists) Front of House (FOH), Monitor Mix sound system, stage dimensions, stage AC Power, Lighting and Video projection requirements. General The sound system shall be in perfect working order and free of noise, hum or distortion. Ground loops, RF interference, hum, hiss, pops or buzzes are not acceptable. In some situations, substitutions of components may be unavoidable. All substitutions or deletions must be approved by the Artists in advance. The general stage layout is shown in Figure 2. Vocal mics shall be mounted on tripod boom stands for Mark, Gary and Christa. The drummer has an AKG Headset mic which he will bring with him. One Direct Box will be used for the Acoustic/Electric guitar. Front of House (FOH) Sound System Requirements The FOH system should be an active 3 way stereo system with the following features: 16 Input channels, as a minimum Effects Processing: Reverb (2 channels), Separate Effects Returns 4 Vocal Channels with Inserts to a separate Compressor / Limiter Mixer Input channels: Pre Fade Listen (PFL) or Solo function, 4 band EQ with 2 mid bands sweepable Stereo Line level input for House music playback via CD, MP3 player, Laptop/Tablet etc. Stereo Line level output (XLR balanced) for reference recording Acceptable Mixer Brands: Soundcraft, Yamaha, Allen and Heath, Midas, PreSonus, Crest Acceptable Amplifier Brands: Crest, Crown, Clair Brothers, QSC, Yamaha Acceptable Signal Processing Brands: dbx, Lexicon, BSS, Klark Teknik, TC Electronic Acceptable Speaker Brands: JBL, Electro-Voice, Yamaha, EAW, Clair Brothers, Meyer, McCauley, Renkus Heinz, Martin Audio The FOH mix desk and effects processing shall be placed in the audience area with full visibility of the stage and performers. Sound system output shall be able to produce a level of 100 dba at 50 feet from front of stage center with Pink Noise Monitor Sound System Requirements The monitor system shall be an active 2 way (12 inch LF driver and HF horn minimum) system (passive is acceptable) with the following features: Five separate monitor mixes, each with o a separate 31-band EQ. or Parametric EQ (minimum 4 bands) or Feedback Eliminator (minimum 12 filters per channel) A floor standing slant monitor for each separate monitor mix with different slant angles for standing and seated performers. If space is not available on the drum riser for the slant monitor then the monitor can be placed in the vertical position as long as it is elevated to the drummer s head height while seated. Guitarist (Gary) uses an In-Ear Monitor (IEM) system which he will bring with him. Gary s IEM input signals are shown in Figure 1. Operates in Stereo mode. Lead Vocalist (Mark) uses an In-Ear Monitor (IEM) system which he will bring with him. Operates in mono mode. 23 24 Stage Area The stage area and riser dimensions, as a minimum, should be: Stage Area - 19 feet wide by 15 feet deep with no obstructions Drum riser - 77 inches wide by 88 inches deep by 16 inches high, centered on stage rear Keyboard riser - 72 inches wide by 60 inches deep by 16 inches high, stage right rear. Relative positions of risers on the stage are shown in Figure 2. AC Power Requirements Two 110 Volt (V) AC Power stage boxes rated at 15 amperes (A) should be located in the rear on stage right and stage left for the performers on stage equipment. Two stage boxes in front of stage between Mark s and Christa s monitors. The stage boxes should be equipped with a minimum of 2 Edison style connectors each. Lighting Requirements 16 - PAR 64 or 56 cans with 500 watt (W) wide flood (WFL) lamps each or equivalent 8 - PAR 64 or 56 cans with 500W narrow spot (NSP) lamps each or equivalent Lighting fixtures can be either mounted on trees on stage left and right or flown from above. Minimum height of the fixtures should be 10 feet above the stage floor. Safety lanyards should be equipped on each fixture. Control console with a minimum of 8 channels and 2 scene settings. Video Projection A video projection (Front or Rear) system shall be available with the following features: Support for at least one of the following formats: HDMI, VGA (15 pin) or DVI Video format of XGA (1024 Horizontal by 768 Vertical) as a minimum Brightness of 3000 lumens, as a minimum Projection screen size minimum of 105 Inches wide 59 inches high mounted above the Drum riser. The bottom of the screen should be at least 1 foot above the head of the drummer while in a seated position.
