Radio Replacement & Steering Wheel Control Interface for MazdaVehicles Introduction & Features The interface allows the replacement of a factory radio in select Mazda vehicles with MS-CAN radios. Using this interface will retain factory features such as steering wheel controls (SWC), programming of the clock on the OEM LCD screen, vehicle information on the OEM LCD screen and the BOSE amplifier when the original radio is removed. Use of this interface also allows you to program two radio functions to each SWC button by using short press long press dual command functionality. The also provides data bus driven outputs such as retained accessory power (RAP), vehicle speed sensor (VSS), illumination, reverse trigger and parking brake. Important Notes 1. The radio select rotary switch on the side of the interface must be adjusted to the proper radio setting before plugging the interface into the vehicle (see next page for setting chart). 2. The LED will flash whenever a SWC button is pressed 3. The interface comes pre-programmed for all of the vehicles factory SWC functions and does not require programming unless you wish to re-assign the SWC functions or utilize short press long press dual command functionality. The SWC can always be restored to default settings by pressing and releasing the program button on the side of the interface once and waiting 7 seconds for the LED to flash 4 times. 4. The settings menu cannot be accessed in the 2013 Mazda 3 with navigation. 5. If using this interface in a Mazda CX-5 or 2014+ Mazda 6, all vehicle settings must be finalized before removing the factory radio. 6. If using in a veheicle equipped with a factory BOSE system, it may be necessary to use a Line Output Converter or connect RCAs to the speaker wire and use the aftermarket radio s low level outputs. 7. The following vehicles will not provide a VSS signal as this information is not on the data bus: RX-8, 2007-2009 CX-9 w/non-nav radio, Miata, 2014+ Mazda3 8. The following vehicles will not provide a reverse output as this information is not on the data bus: RX8, 2007-2009 CX7, 2010 Mazda 5, Miata, 2014+ Mazda3, 2015 Mazda6 9. The following vehicles will not provide a parking brake output as this information is not on the data bus: RX-8, Miata, 2014+ Mazda3 10. The following vehicles have a speed based parking brake wire that will provide a negative trigger until the vehicle is going at least 4 mph: 2007-2009 CX-9, 2007-2009 CX-7 Wiring Connection Chart Interface Connector Vehicle Connector SWC Connector Red / White Purple / White Red Green / White Orange/White Parking Brake Output (-) Vehicle Speed Output Accessory Output (1 amp) 2nd SWC Input (See Installation steps on next page for proper connection) Illumination Output (+) Green Reverse Output (+) Yellow Battery +12v Black Blue Blue/White Orange / White White White / Black Grey Grey / Black Green Green / Black Purple Purple / Black Ground Antenna On Input/2nd SWC output (See Installation steps on next page for proper connection) Amp Turn On Input Illumination Front L + input Front L - input Front R + input Front R - input Rear L + input Rear L - input Rear R + input Rear R - input Blu/Yel 3.5mm Jack Kenwwod, Newer JVC, Alpine, JVC, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, Fusion, Boyo, Dual, Lightning Audio, Visteon or Advent

Make all connections as described in the chart on page 1. 3. Blue wire in vehicle harness - In the Mazda CX-5, 2013+ CX-9, 2014+ Mazda 6 & 2013 Mazda 3 with factory navigation, the blue wire in the 24 pin vehicle harness needs to be connected to the green/white wire in the 16-pin RP harness. This is necessary for the Bluetooth SWC to function with the aftermarket radio. In all other applications this wire should be connected to the aftermarket radios power antenna output 4. Mazda CX-5 - This vehicle must use the orange/white wire in the interface connector for illumination. 5. Connect the SWC wire according to the chart on page 1 (aftermarket radio MUST support a wired remote input). 6. If you wish to reassign functions to the SWC or utilize short press long press dual command functionality follow the programming instructions on the next page.
