MEAT PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY Let us begin with a few thoughts. If you stopped over, it means that so far we have done a good job. And we do intend to keep on doing that, that s for sure! We will go on doing what you have always kept on asking us, that is doing the best. Not only our best, but the best. It is quite different. As a matter of fact, if we know each other, or if you have just casually come to know us, there must be a special reason. Now, we do believe that it is because we like to reach over and above, never feel satisfied, keep on growing steadily, offer customized solutions to widely meet expectations and needs. Not only our customers ones, but also and foremost our own.

FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS AUTOMATION IN MEAT PROCESSING We have been working since 1962. Over the last 50 years the world has dramatically changed. Production process has deeply and constantly transformed into business; small companies grew bigger and bigger; the indistinct mass of workers fragmented and evolved into a cloud of technicians, experts, specialists, lovers and consultants. We went through crises and rode the growth; we shifted from premises to promises and felt the breeze of success, only to realize that it would not have rhymed with progress. It is a surging rhythm encouraging to run faster. And keep up with that pace is becoming more and more a daily challenge. 1962 Isidoro Verderio founds the company named V.B. 1970 First discomatic picker 1995 First rabbit skinning machine 2004 First 12,000/bph quail processing plant 1965 First automatic scalder 1972 First plastics trolley worldwide 1980 QUAIL sector creation QUAIL 1987 SPATCHCOCK sector creation SPATCHCOCK 1990 RABBIT sector creation RABBIT 1999 Introduction of a new 3D designing technology 2009 Creation of the new rabbit portioning machine series 1962 1970 1980 1990 2000 2010 1968 First chicken processing plant 1969 Patent for the invention of a picker 1981 First automatic quail ventor and eviscerator 1993 First rabbit forelegs cutter First machines equipped with guards 2002 First rabbit opening machine 2012 Verderio celebrates in its own way its first half a century of history: keeping on working! 2011 First rabbit GAS stunning line

FROM DESIGNING TO MAINTENANCE OBSESSED WITH QUALITY Our mission is convert any challenge into a new opportunity. How? It s easy. If the market drives to invest in growth, before committing your resources, then ask yourself which investment would prove to be the best one. As paving the way for business sometimes is not enough. You need competence, safety, reliability. Sure, employees have always been an inexhaustible resource. However it is sometimes necessary to transfer tasks and it is becoming harder and harder to find, and retain, skilled and motivated staff. Moreover the compliance with sanitary regulations, environmental restrictions, efficiency requirements are becoming more and more crucial. Thus, the question is: how can we win the challenge launched by growth by counting on an investment which has to be a success and not a compromise? Answering that question, in the first place, means understanding customers needs in order to manufacture customized products meeting their requirements. That is why we bet on automation which, to make it quite clear, is not intended to replace manpower, but to optimise and improve it, thus enabling companies and their people to aim at new and more stimulating targets. Automate to connect, to bridge the gap between departments and equipment, individuals and staff, production and product. Automate to control, optimise, boost: in one word, grow. Over the last 50 years, we had one goal clear in our mind: design and distribute quality. Each production process at Verderio strictly complies with this principle, as if we were obsessed with merit. But what does quality really mean? Just think about it: sometimes this word might have different meanings according to different points of view. We are not discussing further as we consider it pure rhetoric. We rather prefer informing you about our strong points: - Identify customers needs - Develop appropriate and sustainable projects - Support and boost production growth - Count on efficient collaborators - Simplify product development - Boost productivity - Limit interference Our solutions cover the whole production process: we offer services such as training, technical assistance, pre and after-sale service and spare parts supply. Our only aim is ensuring that the final product complies with the principles that have distinguished our company over the years and made our brand so successful.

EXCLUSIVE WORLDWIDE COMPETENCE COMPLETE PLANT FOR QUAIL PROCESSING QUAIL Verderio is the sole worldwide company to offer completely-automatic plants for quail processing. Our production standards allow to reach a capacity up to 12,000 bph: that is why we are leaders in this sector for both production and results. The present plants performances are the result of more than 30 years of research aiming at innovation, sustainability and efficiency. Imagine a production line capable of achieving extraordinary results. That is it: we have focused our efforts on exponential growth, efficiency and production process stability. UP TO 12,000 BPH As a matter of fact we think that customers satisfaction is of prime concern when developing a project. Production alone hardly matters if due consideration is not given to crucial factors such as: quality of the finished product, full traceability, operating costs reduction. Jose Sole Bertran GRUPO SOLE BERTRAN, SPAIN We called Verderio converting our processing line into one single versatile, multi-purpose slaughtering chain fit for three bird species (quail, spatchcock and partridge). Our relationship, as this is what it is, though only professional, dates back to the end of the eighties. In those days we hardly were a little more than a small quail farm with considerable growth margins and ambitions going beyond our production capacity. For a few years we remained in the shadows, then sales dramatically increased and forced us, in the mid nineties, to fully modernise our production line. We called Verderio, who proved being extremely reliable and expert since the beginning: his deep knowledge of the various production processes, combined with a significant understanding of the market requirements, allowed us to increase our production by more than 100% while converting our processing line into one single versatile, multi-purpose slaughtering chain fit for three bird species (quail, spatchcock and partridge). Today as in the past our goal is constant improvement allowing us to offer superior quality products through the steady evolution of the production process. Verderio is the natural expression of our desire to find excellence in partnership. And our relationship is as vital as in the past. Verderio is our prime partner for the new projects concerning our plants modernisation as well as for the identification of new investments regarding the future of our company. We do believe in their competence and honesty and that is why they fully deserve our esteem and confidence.

Guy Prod Homme CAILLES ROBIN/GROUPE LDC, FRANCE No problem the magic words in our relationship with Verderio No problem. Here are the magic words we ve always heard since we chose Verderio as our partner. Words that are indissolubly linked to our group philosophy: the capacity of solving problems is what distinguishes excellence from mediocrity. Even though we are a small business, which cannot be compared with the giants of the international distribution, the relationship with Verderio has always relied on mutual esteem and confidence. The quality of our relationship is based on an efficient and scrupulous attention towards our company; each single action seems to be directed to trouble shooting: the respect towards equipment during the installation phase, the precision of details, the quality of materials and the time devoted to projects. Their support is precise and accurate, their knowledge allows them to identify the critical points linked to the designing of customized machines and to support the company while offering either technical or non-technical advice. That is why Verderio is our ideal partner in excellence. From the past to the future, from the introduction of the first machines to the application of the new technologies and the choice of materials, we keep on placing our trust into the hands of the people who improved our professional expectations by investing in production growth without sacrificing the quality of products.

EXCLUSIVE VERDERIO COMPETENCE COMPLETE PLANTS FOR RABBIT PROCESSING RABBIT Verderio is worldwide leader for the construction of rabbit processing plants and machinery that cover the whole processing cycle up to 3,500 units per hour and over. The degree of automation traditionally characterising the rabbit processing sector led us to develop new machines to mechanize the hard and heavy work while replacing operators, ensuring their safety and increasing their efficiency. UP TO 3,500 UNITS PER HOUR Another reason to focus all our energy on solutions taking into account new priorities: operators safety, animal welfare and product quality. Juan Castro Rodriguez COGAL, S. COOP. GALLEGA, SPAIN Over the last twenty years our production capacity has increased by over 400% When we first purchased from Verderio, more than twenty years ago, rabbit processing was mainly manual as elsewhere in Spain. There were no machines replacing operators working in slaughtering plants: the automation of slaughtering was nothing but a dream and it just existed in our imagination. Yet, over the last twenty years, our production capacity has increased by over 400%. Even if it is true that recently the development in demand increasingly led to diversifying the offer of rabbits, the commercial success of our group would have never reached such results in such a short time without relying on Verderio as our partner. Meeting them meant finding competence and willingness to adapt their projects to our needs; they not only promptly supplied us with innovative processing systems and techniques, but supported us with advice regarding maintenance and looked further into the future technologies and their achievements. In a few words we found they were highly motivated in the achievement of shared objectives even when, rarely, they did not completely satisfied our needs. We definitely do want to maintain our partnership with Verderio: we trust them and feel confident they will allow us to achieve more and more ambitious and satisfying goals.

NOT ONLY QUAILS AND RABBITS VERDERIO SOLUTIONS FOR CHICKEN, SPATCHCOCK, TURKEY, DUCK PROCESSING 50 years ago, at the very beginning of our professional and personal history, we started with simple basic and essential things: manual machines for chicken processing. Today simplicity is our goal and it is guaranteed by automation in order to make the production process easier. Thus not only quails and rabbits, but also projects regarding the processing of chickens (up to 9,000 bph), spatchcocks (up to 6,000 bph), turkeys, ducks, geese, guinea-fowls, partridges and pigeons. Our only purpose is to guarantee the quality of the finished product and reduce the potentially critical aspects.

VERDERIO TECHNOLOGY DESIGNED TO NEVER STAY STILL The only constant in life is change. On the basis of this conviction, at Verderio we develop projects having a life expectancy longer than the average. Behind each single idea, work plan, prospect or purpose of improvement, there s a world of thorough research aiming at testing their reliability. Designers are well aware of that. However, to be really innovative, a project has to meet wider requirements exceeding the simple functionality and anticipating potential critical aspects. Technology is the factor making the real difference: our engineers, technicians and designers can count on the best software, materials and competence resulting in higher reliability of products. How? Simplifying the plants management, maintenance and proper functioning, ensuring higher safety standards and shorter delivery terms. Each step forward in research means newer production standards aiming at achieving top reliability and top efficiency. Last but not least, that means giving the opportunity to our customers to focus on their business.

AFTER-SALE ASSISTANCE OUR CUSTOMER IS NEVER LEFT ALONE Do not worry! Nothing has been neglected and we have taken into account even potentially rare events. In case of troubles, from plant maintenance to single components replacement, our control system will promptly assist you. To put it clearly, we developed a timely and efficient system of scheduled maintenance: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The underlying premise is that we do trust our products but, unfortunately, sometimes troubles occur. That is why we developed a system for the prevention and control of unexpected events relying on a timely and efficient after-sale assistance. Moreover our desire to do and achieve the best led us to develop a specific software dedicated to the plants supervision and control. Our software possess an exclusive nature: they are designed and developed to meet the requirements of each single customer.

Mechanize means simplify. Simplify means innovate. Innovation is the key: it allows to make production grow exponentially and to reduce critical events. Innovate to simplify things, to let you work better, to achieve higher goals, to optimise achievements in time. Via G.
