INTRODUCTION Individual innovators need to put in a lot of investment if they aim to become technology based entrepreneurs. The major hurdle behind the innovative ideas not being converted to marketable products is the lack of financial support required to convert these ideas from a prototype stage to a viable commercial product. In view of this, the government, since many years has been trying to address these issues of innovation and commercialization through its various programmes. Join us to learn more about these government funding schemes targeted to extend financial support to the individual innovators. PROGRAMME OUTLINE Learn about Government Funding Schemes from Prof. Amarnath, who heads SINE the Entrepreneurship Unit of IIT Bombay and is a Chair Professor of IITB. He is also a member of several Govt. of India organizations like DST, TIFAC and chaired some of their committees, the most notable one being the TSC of TePP program of DSIR. o TePP o TREMAP Interactive exercise wherein inventors will present 3 slides on their invention, and receive comments by Prof. Amarnath on the same. OBJECTIVE Learn how the funding schemes can help the innovators, entrepreneurs and MSMEs in getting their idea to the market and benefiting from them. WHO IS IT FOR? Members of Pune Inventors Network (PIN) Inventors Scientist/students

ABOUT PUNE INVENTORS NETWORK (PIN) The Pune Inventors Network is a forum for inventors from Greater Pune region to meet, interact, share experiences/ learning with each other. The Pune Inventors Network (PIN) is hosted by IP Facilitation Center - which is a non-profit project of the Venture Center (technology business incubator in NCL campus) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. For more information about PIN, visit www.ipface.org/inet/ ABOUT IPFACE IPFACE aims to promote awareness and adoption of intellectual property rights amongst entrepreneurs and MSMEs in India while also making accessible high-quality IP services and resources. IPFACE is a project of the Venture Center supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India and National Chemical Laboratory, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India. For more information about IPFACE services, visit www.ipface.org SPONSORED BY: DST-TIFAC s TREMAP PROGRAMME Technology Refinement and Marketing Programme (TREMAP) initiated by Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) in the year 2009 is a unique program to support the nation s innovation pool by pushing the innovative technologies from working prototype stage towards a viable commercial product stage through a network of Technology Commercialization Facilitators (TCFs). This facilitates an early assessment of innovative technologies by identifying their commercial potential and provides the required financial, marketing and operational skills for commercialization For more information about TREMAP, visit www.venturecenter.co.in/tremap/
