The SCHNOOR DMR-System SYSTEM DESCRIPTION SCHNOOR DMR
DMR combines the advantages of professional mobile radio with the latest technology Wherever wireless communications with highest reliability and a fast call setup is demanded, users rely on Professional Mobile Radio technology. DMR is the latest available technology for professional users, who want to be independent from mobile phone networks. Based on an open global ETSI-standard, DMR can be used for a single repeater based coverage (Tier II) up to advanced cellular networks (Tier III). Of course DMR supports both voice and data traffic. The Schnoor DMR-System: Reliable, when you need it most! Fully interoperable system, tested to the ETSI standard The SCHNOOR DMR-System with all its components is 100% compatible to the global DMR standard. So you can be sure to have the full choice of radio terminals on the market instead of being bound to one supplier. Simple connectivity and scalability within the SCHNOOR DMR The unique SCHNOOR DMR makes clear, how simple all components of the SCHNOOR DMR-System can be connected: No matter if dispatcher consoles, application servers or a gateway to the internet for voice or data traffic. Based on the decentralized IP architecture, connectivity is ensured even in case one of the components is not in service. Real Base Station Technology for highest availability and ready for Tier III Unlike our competition, SCHNOOR DMR systems are not based on modified mobile terminals, but on real base station hardware. Good to know, because the parts and modules are more stable and will be reliable even under highest load. If you decide to start with a Tier II system, you can be sure that parts can be used for an upgrade to a cellular Tier III solution. Simulcast-capable and with analog fall back mode You want to decide for DMR technology now, but continue to use your conventional two way radios? No problem with the SCHNOOR DMR-System. Without hardware modification, your system can be configured for analog repeater mode and back to digital. For a bigger footprint of your radio network, the system supports DMR simulcast. 2
Welcome to DMR Connectivity made by SCHNOOR Portable Radio Mobile Radio SCHNOOR DMR Base Station SCHNOOR DMR Base Station SCHNOOR DMR Dispatcher Application Server SIP PSTN Network Management System The SCHNOOR DMR-System provides a unique connectivity to users of PMR networks. DMR base stations are the most important devices in this scenario, but with our modular toolkit of interfaces and gateways, PMR users can select form an almost unlimited number of scenarios: Connection to dispatcher workplaces, either as a stand-alone console or PC-based Telephone interfaces to conventional or SIP-based PSTN Integration of the DMR-System into a SNMP-Maintenance network and other service interfaces Applications servers for documentation or connection of other communication systems All this functionality is not based on a centrally organized switch: Based on the decentralized architecture of the SCHNOOR DMR-System, the base stations will continue operation even if there should be a failing component on one part of the system. 3

With a software maintenance agreement, you will always be served with the latest updates for your system.
DMR the right solution for you The new DMR technology is a modern standard for users demanding a professional communication system: Highest reliability DMR-systems can be configured in a way to keep you in full control. You decide, if you want to equip your network with an uninterruptable power supply, microwave backhaul links or redundancy for 100% availability, enough for even highest demands. The DMR technology itself is very robust, so that even with lowest RF levels a safe and reliable connection can be maintained. Real-time call setup If users are working on machinery or vehicles, time is often a very critical variable for PMR users. Not for DMR, it provides a call setup within milliseconds, enough for even the most time critical applications. Re-use of existing frequency licenses Existing frequency licenses can often be re-used for DMR, because it uses the same channel spacing like conventional FM. This makes migration simple! A global standard for safe communication DMR has been accepted by ETSI as a global standard for professional wireless radio. So you can be sure, that DMR components will be available for a long time and you can choose from a wide variety of supplies for radios. In-building DMR made easy DMR is suitable for providing coverage in buildings or tunnels, because it uses a low frequency spectrum. Lower frequencies allow a more efficient coverage. While you would need dozens of access points for DECT or WLAN all over your building, one DMR base station is often enough for covering even basements or garages. Things become even easier if there is an existing indoor radio system for fire safety. In this case, it is often possible to re-use the existing radiating cable, the most expensive part of the system. Our sales engineers help you with a detailed analysis of your existing system and will help you to re-use already existing investments! 7 3
