Company synopsis Majantys, part of Pleiades Group along with Pleiades Instruments, is an optoelectronic system maker, designing and manufacturing for specific systems such as photometric measurement and customized systems. Majantys develops and manufactures color measurement systems. Our products are based on a modular set of building blocks which can easily be configured to meet specific customer application requirements. With its 30-year cumulative experience in research and industry, Majantys provides accurate, flexible and scalable color solutions to its customers' projects which involves both technical challenge and budgetary consideration. MSU series MSU series is an innovative spectrophotometer for spectral and color characterization of light sources. Designed for the spectrometry application, available to the industry by providing a rugged, miniature and cost effective spectrometer unit. The solution is suited for diagnostic, incoming inspection and quality control in laboratory as well as industrial and in-situ environments. 3
Spectral Characterization of Light Sources The lighting industry undergoes a major change with the introduction of the LED technology. This spectrophotometer offers many advantages - ultra compact, low power consumption, optimized visual comfort - but requires a careful management of its optical, electrical and thermal parameters. Industrial-oriented and lab class device The MSU series delivers a high level of measurement performances. Embedded calibration for absolute units enables to configure the device as a spectrometer. The MSU series is available either as a stand-alone unit with a user friendly software interface or as an OEM brick for fully integrated solution. Full visible spectrum sensitivity USB-powered PC remote control Benefits and Highlights The MSU series is powered via its USB interface. There is no external power supply required; The device is thus a true stand alone unit for a maximum of flexibility. The device features a miniaturized design while keeping the performance and the reliability of a scientific grade spectrometer. The light analysis is achieved using aberration corrected type IV concave holographic grating. This technology involves no moving parts. The grating is directly set into a concave mirror. The device may be introduced in industrial environments and does not requires any specific maintenance. High acquisition speed (down to 1 ms) is the perfect match for a fast-paced production flow, while ensuring routine inspection of produced parts. USB interface enables an easy integration in any environments. Four embedded input / output hardware ports are available for synchronizing the sensor with the production flow. 4
The MSU series parameters are available through a Windows Software Graphical User Interface. At the same time, the user may watch the spectral and colorimetric results in various formats for a quick evaluation. Integration or stand-alone The MSU series spectrometer is suitable for various applications where the dimensions and the performances are critical key parameters. The device may be used either as a turn key solution or customized for integration into a subsystem for analysis in the field of analytical chemistry, medical diagnostics, colorimetry, process monitoring, food, lighting, semiconductors and many others. Contact us for more details about the compatibility with your OEM design solutions. Configuration 1 - OEM, without housing Configuration 2 - Stand alone, aluminum housing 5
Metrology configuration The MSU series spectrometer has an internal EEPROM for data storage. For metrology applications, it is possible to load a spectral sensitivity correction factor each pixels of the sensor array. For colorimetry application, the device sensitivity may be calibrated on a reference light source such as a tungsten halogen lamp. The correction factor for each individual pixel is stored onboard directly, preventing mishandling of the calibration files. Thus, the device turns to a spectrometer and may compute the absolute chromaticity coordinates. Software interface A Windows-based graphical user interface is available to set the spectrometer parameters and to display the results. The interface includes: Multiple spectra overview, Chromaticity computed in CIE 1931 and UCS 1976 diagrams, 2D and 3D graphs for lab and Lch representations, Color difference and alarm set-up, Various tools for data analysis and visualization, 6
