Proportion is an important concept for all design professionals to be able to describe via hand sketched drawings. Why is it important for an design professional to be able to produce high quality sketched objects quickly and effectively? Why is it important for a design professional to understand proportion and demonstrate it effectively? AutoCAD generated orthographic projection drawings have greatly increased the productivity of design engineers. The design industry has many standard drawing scales and paper size standards which are all utilized for different purposes. How has the advancement of AutoCAD streamline the production of orthographic projection drawings? How has the introduction of the AutoCAD computer program revolutionized the design industry? Why is scaling an important component in the design field? Understanding of the different types of line segments including: lines arcs circles splines ellipses etc. The understanding of the AutoCAD software to create an orthographic projection drawing Procedures needed to create an AutoCAD generated orthographic projection drawing Knowledge of the different scale standards used in the various design industries whice utilize different paper sizes. Students will be able to complete an orthographic projection using various basic AutoCad procedures. Students will have the ability to print drawings on the appropriate paper sizes using the correct scale.
