Capability Information Main Business Activities and Industries Served Silverbrook Drilling Services has been established since early 2006. We have extensive experience in water well drilling primarily for stock, domestic and large diameter irrigation as well as maintenance, repair and de-watering of bores. In recent years we have formed successful partnerships throughout NSW and Queensland and further expanded our capability to include specialisation in monitoring and exploration drilling. Our service now includes chip and core drilling. Currently we have two drilling rigs available for various projects and have the ability to engage a further two drilling rigs as well as an artesian drilling rig. Our water well drilling follows the requirements of mandatory Water Act 2000 and minimum construction standards. We have a strong view on the protection of water bearing aquifers, requiring cementing and pressure cementing techniques where and when required. Silverbrook Drilling Services employs certified drill personnel. We conduct in-house training on all aspects of drilling and drilling safety. We work in conjunction with a Training RTO to continuously improve our people s training and safety awareness levels. We pride ourselves in our personnel skill levels, expertise and constant ongoing development. All Silverbrook Drilling Services personnel undergo continual training and assessment through our Training Needs Analysis (TNA) program. Silverbrook Drilling Services operates a roster to meet client needs or operates in conjunction with relevant site rosters to meet site needs. Training and Skills Our Structure and strengths Carol McIntyre - owner /manager CERT II in Drilling and currently completing a Diploma in Drill Management. Chris McIntyre CERT IV in Drilling and has 20 years of drilling experience in varied sectors. Chris holds both Qld and NSW water drilling Licences and is enrolled in a Diploma in drilling as well as a TAE CERT IV in Training and Assessment. Tim Wilson our drill offsider holds a CERT II in Drilling and is currently progressing from trainee driller to CERT III in Drilling. John Dolley holds a Diploma in Drilling with 35 years experience in most facets of drilling. He is also our trainer assessor holding a CERT IV in Training and Assessment, as well as, being currently enrolled in an Advanced Diploma in Drilling Management. Capacity We have two drilling rigs (described above) available for work and can contract a further two similar rigs if required. We can also incorporate the services of an artesian drill rig. Our service includes full drilling and development, as well as, maintenance and repair of water bores and monitoring holes. 100mm Cores (4C) Silverbrook Drilling Services has the capability to drill 100mm Cores (4C) to varied depths with a recovery of 95% of core. Core trays can be supplied Logging tables PVC logging splits Core barrel will be 4.5 meters HQ & PQ Drilling Silverbrook Drilling Services has the capability to drill HQ and PQ holes to varied depths. Chip Holes Silverbrook Drilling Services has the capability to drill chip holes to a depth range of 0 450 meters. We have a wide variety of drilling equipment, hammers, bits, etc. to drill varied requirements, and we have the expertise to drill on compressors or on mud as required. Steel casing can be supplied as required, and we are able to pressure cement as necessary. Blow out preventers can also be provided. 3. Track Record Major Clients In the last 3 years Silverbrook Drilling Services has completed contracts with: Xstrata Coal (Newlands & Rolleston) Developed, drilled cased and installed monuments on 15 monitoring bores. Drilled 35 coal grade control holes from 30-150m deep at Wolloombi pit Drilled 20 open chip holes at Rolleston over a 3 month period. Felix Resources/Yancoal (Yarrabee Coal) Drilled 100 open chip holes ranging from 100-200m deep over a 5 month period and a further 50 open chip holes ranging from 100-200m deep over another 3 month period. These holes were mostly a combination of air and mud drilled, allowing for the installation of collar casing in unstable formations. GHD Drilled 6 monitoring bores and ground testing holes at Dalby for an Ergon Energy project being controlled by GHD. 6
Ergon Energy Drilled and developed one, poly cased, water bore at the Stanthorpe Ergon Energy office. URS/PB (Wondoan) Drilled two vibrating wire piezo-meter bores and 8 monitoring bores, ranging from 30 100 m deep. These were both air and mud drilled with surface cased mud drilling down to about 30 meters followed by air drilling due to unstable ground. QGC (Wolleebee Creek) Drilled two production bores to 217 m, cased with steel for water supply to the camp and one monitoring bore. 4. Management Systems Health, Safety and Environmental Management System Silverbrook Drilling Services prides itself in health and safety and considers this to be paramount in all aspects of our company operations. We currently maintain an in-house Health Safety and Environmental Management system based on AS/NZS 4801 and compliant with relevant State Acts and Regulations. A copy of our Health Safety and Environmental Management Plan (HSEMP) is available on request. Silverbrook Drilling Services currently has a zero Lost Time Injury record. Risk Management Approach All Silverbrook Drilling Services activities and operations are conducted within our in-house Risk Management framework. This framework is maintained and described in our HSE Management System. It includes: a risk management matrix to identify and assess potential risks, as well as a risk management system and procedures to manage the identified risks. 7
We comply with local, state and federal regulations that apply to water drilling and mining industry operations. Our staff and equipment are licensed and registered to perform the service we offer in water and general drilling. Insurances Silverbrook Drilling Services maintains: A $20 million public liability insurance policy Workers Compensation insurance, as well as Truck and machinery insurance. 5. Customer Service and Market Response Relationships and Communication Silverbrook Drilling Services maintains open and on-going communication with its clients. When working on controlled sites we observe all site requirements, including communication requirements, and pro-actively assure the site is aware of our work status as well as any delays or changes to planned work. Responsiveness Being a smaller company we excel in being able to respond more quickly than larger firms. We maintain flexibility that provides a quick response approach to customer needs. Our policy of open communication with customers also assures that they are provided with ongoing work status updates.
