NAVY ENLISTED OCCUPATIONAL STANDARD FOR CONSTRUCTION MECHANIC (CM) SCOPE OF RATING Construction Mechanics (CM) perform tasks involved in diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of automotive, material/weight handling and construction equipment; assign and supervise activities of personnel who locate, analyze, and correct malfunctions in equipment; research, order, and receive repair parts; maintain records; prepare requisitions and reports; train personnel in repair procedures and techniques; maintain individual combat and operational readiness; and perform tasks required in combat and disaster preparedness or recovery operations. This Occupational Standard is to be incorporated in Volume I, Part B, of the Manual of Navy Enlisted Manpower and Personnel Classifications and Occupational Standards (NAVPERS 18068F) as Chapter 18. CM-3
