ADVERTISEMENT FOR TEST DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS (SETTERS-MODERATORS AND ARTWORK EXPERTS) The Kenya National Examinations Council is mandated to set and maintain standards and conduct school and post school examinations among others. Therefore, one of the core functions is to develop both school and post-school examinations. This is done through engagement of Contracted Professionals (setters, moderators and artwork experts) drawn from public and private institutions in the country. The Council is in the process of expanding its database of Contracted Professionals for Test Development and wishes to recruit setters, moderators and artwork experts who will be engaged in developing tests for school and post school business, technical and teacher education examinations. The successful applicants will be trained, awarded certificates and thereafter engaged as contracted professionals who will be given paid assignments from time to time as need arises. Qualifications Applicants wishing to be considered for appointment as contracted professionals should meet the following requirements: 1. Have unquestionable and irreproachable integrity; 2. Be a professional or expert or subject specialist in the field or trade area for which he/she will be engaged to develop tests. 3. Must not be teaching/ training candidates for subjects applied for; 4. Have academic and/or professional qualifications at least one level above the qualifications for which the test papers are to be developed for Post School and Teacher Education examinations; 5. Be conversant with the content of the syllabi in their subjects or field of specialization; 6. Have proven teaching or work experience of at least 3 years; 7. Teachers must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission; 8. Professionals (e.g. Accountants, HR Practitioners, Engineers among others) should be current members of the professional body recognized in their field; 9. Certificate of Good Conduct; 10. Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board. the contacts provided and invited for training before being recruited as contracted professionals. When reporting for training, they will be required to bring copies and originals of: Academic and professional certificates; Testimonials; Detailed CV; Certificate of Good Conduct; For teachers employed or registered by the TSC, recommendations from the head of institution and County Director of Education; For non-teaching professionals, a recommendation from the employer. Contracted Professionals already engaged by the Council need not apply.
