Hatzopoulos and the Environment
Environmental Policy We have fulfilled major investments in solvent recovery and solvent abatement systems to reduce any negative consequences that our activities might generate to the environment. In addition we have implemented concrete policies according ISO 14001:2004 for the protection of the eco-system. In 2009 we worked in the Carbon Disclosure Project, measuring and controling the CO2 emissions of our major activities, setting up goals and action plans for the reduction of those emissions.

Hatzopoulos is supporting global causes Through our partnership with: We are a SEDEX (Social EthicalData Exchange) member since 2009. This is a data platform offering companies to measure performance regarding corporate responsibility. Topics such as labour relations, safety and hygiene, environmental and business activities are in the scope of SEDEX. Since August 2010 Hatzopoulos is a participant to the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative in the world with more than 7700 participants from 130 countries. With our participation we embrace and we stay committed to align our business operations with the 10 universally accepted principles of UNGC in the areas of human rights, labour, environment& anti-corruption. For our social contribution and our activities for the protection of the environment we have received the Greek merit award in 2011 and 2013.
Company s social contribution Hatzopoulos family deep roots in Northern Greece made the company contribute a lot in the preservation of the Museum of Macedonian Struggle & Culture, one of the most important historic museums in Thessaloniki The Papafeion Orfanage of the city has repeatedly received donations from the company Each year Hatzopoulos contributes to the work of the Doctors without Borders organization 100% of our products are in line with internationally accepted guidelines for food-safe packaging Hatzopoulos has been awarded with the Elliniki Axia (Greek Merit) award in 2011 for its contribution to society
