(Decrease 1 stitch) Magic Circle (MC) or Adjustable Ring = Wrap yarn around 3 fingers making a loop with the loose end under the working yarn, with hook reach under the loose yarn (above where the yarns cross) and pull the working yarn through and chain 1 stitch (1 loop on hook). Working around the yarn held by the chain stitch, single crochet the number of stitches called for in the pattern. For an MC of 6, you would crochet 6 single crochet stitches around the starting loop. Then pull the loose end of the yarn tight and you have made your Magic Circle. NOTES Do not join rounds unless otherwise indicated. Use a yarn marker or contrasting yarn to mark rows. Keep crochet stitches close together so the stuffing will not show when brushed. The number in brackets (#) at the end of the row is the number of stitches you should have in that row.
