Best known for Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles, Ray Bradbury has had an undeniable impact on the genre of Science Fiction. He wrote 27 novels and over 600 short stories and received numerous literary awards, including one of only 44 total awarded Pulitzer Special Citations.

In addition to countless other awards and acknowledgements, Charles Simic was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry twice in the 1980s, and received the prestigious award in 1990.

School Prayer is a poem from the collection I Praise My Destroyer. The poet, essayist, naturalist and science writer is also known for the memoir One Hundred Names for Love, for which she was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and the recently adapted-for-film The Zookeeper s Wife. 10. Hugo and Nebula award-winning Science Fiction writer Aldiss is perhaps best known for his short story, Super-Toys Last All Summer Long, the inspiration for the film A.I. Artificial Intelligence. The British author wrote over 80 books, 300 short stories and several volumes of poetry.
