Pre-Location Water Leak Noise Logger Today, many water suppliers and utilities are faced with challenges of keeping their costs low while continuing to provide the full water supply service to their customers. They need to continuously monitor their pipe network for any water leaks and reduce any water loss. Furthermore, they must dig the leaked pipes accurately to repair the broken water pipes. All of these challenges are also faced with minimum resources, their on site safety, and efficient use of their time. The Metrolog HL7000 system is used for acoustic zone monitoring for permanent or temporary installation. This pre-location system records level and frequency values which guide you to Hot-Spots in your pipe network first. This leads to efficiently structured work orders and economical decisions. The Metrolog HL7000 Digital Noise Logger The Metrolog HL7000 Digital Noise Logger is the heart of the Acoustic Leak Noise Logging System. It quickly attaches to water gate valves or pipe access points through a strong magnet for easy access. An uninterrupted logger operation allows fast and accurate results that help reduce leak location time with minimum maintenance. Logger settings are always up-to-date and are ideally programmed to turn on and record sound level and frequency between 2 am and 4 am. This allows technicians to proactively search for leaks. The data is automatically transferred via radio link to the Metrolog HL7000 Commander, Metrolog HL7000 Reader or directly to a laptop, allowing technicians to read and collect data from the logger in one step. Barcode tracking technology allows efficient management of all deployed units and isolates any logger that reports a potential water leak. The Metrolog HL7000 Commander The Metrolog HL7000 Commander is used to program the loggers as well as receive stored data. All of the necessary information is clearly displayed on its large screen. If a logger is in leak mode, an immediate audio analysis will occur, and the results will appear on the Commander. Programming via Bidirectional Radio Link All of the important parameters for the operation of the loggers can be programmed with a few simple clicks. Operating hours, recording time, number of measurements, time adjustment and more, can all be programmed via Radio link. Simple Operation Using easygo easy GO Vivax-Metrotech s unique easygo rotary knob function allows seamless operation of the Metrolog HL7000 Commander. It allows for quick handling and programming of the Commander during patrolling. Bidirectional Radio Link The Radio Link bidirectional radio allows quick programming of the logger. This eliminates the need to remove the logger from the valve. In addition, the bidirectional radio allows for real time monitoring of leak noise. Easy and Efficient Use Turn off the loggers easily by simply rotating the logger upside down for more than three minutes. This allows for efficient patrolling and collecting of loggers without interference. Operational Data are Always Up-To-Date The internal clock of the logger is automatically synchronized with every bidirectional radio contact. This minimizes drift, and insures accuracy.
Data Reading and Analysis Best Sound Results You can quickly drive by the installed loggers and capture the data via the Commander or the optional Metrolog HL7000 Reader and PC via RadioLink. All of the information can be stored and read later, eliminating the need to stop at each logger location and providing road safety to technicians while on site. Evaluation and Documentation On a PC An interface cable allows the transfer of data from the Commander or Reader to a PC. The Metrolog View software displays all of the results and logger locations for reference. All images can be printed out for further analysis and reporting. The software can also show leak status in a digital pipe network diagram. The colored display of each logger immediately gives an overview of the pipe network being monitored. The software allows the optional Reader to upload more logger results than the Commander, making programming of the loggers faster and more efficient. Analysis of Levels and Frequencies The Metrolog is the only acoustic logging system that analyzes sound frequency and level. This is especially important on plastic pipes, where sound levels diminishes rather quickly. By capturing the frequency, the Metrolog HL7000 can provide a more reliable diagnosis of a leak. Full system deployment always offers better results by making it easier and more efficient to perform full surveys multiple times a year. This saves the utility time and money. Global Positioning System The optional GPS feature allows better asset management of the logger system. By plotting exact locations, there is virtually no chance of losing loggers and it is easily viewed through the Metrolog View software. Leak Indication in One Step By switching the Metrolog HL7000 Commander on, and clicking once, you will immediately know whether there is a leak, or not.
