Primary Visuals Instruction Sheet Actual learning increases with the use of visuals to illustrate Bible truths. Using various presentation methods from week to week results in increased interest and enthusiasm for class experiences. Follow the simple instructions here for visual preparations. The Bible Story section of the teacher s guide for this quarter has directions for using the visuals as you share the Bible incidents or doctrines. Lesson 1 March 4, 2018 Item 1 Attendance Poster. The character traits emphasized in this quarter of studies will help learners build wholesome relationships with others. Each child has an individual block to record attendance each week. Provide a marker for children to letter names in the name spaces the first week. Challenge everyone to fill his record during the thirteen weeks by being present each week and marking his boxes. David Puppet David is a Bible character featured in several of the stories. Make a stick puppet of figure 1-1. Tape or glue a wide craft stick or paint stirrer to the back of the puppet. Use a 1'' x 8'' strip of stiff cardboard if a wooden stick is not available. Storyboard Figure Use a Styrofoam storyboard to display figure 1-2 as the lesson about praising God develops. Item 2 Scripture Poster. Display this praise poster above a worship center table or another prominent place where learners can absorb its message. Leave it for Unit 1 as a reminder of God s lovingkindness. Lesson 2 March 11, 2018 Bible Story Streamer Use visuals 2-1 through 2-6 on a Bible story streamer to hold attention for the entire story. Cut colored paper, poster board or wallpaper to make a 30'' long strip 3'' wide. Splice the streamer to get the needed length and add a picture over the seam while presenting the story. Attach each picture to the streamer when directed in the Bible story section of the teacher s guide. Lesson 3 March 18, 2018 Figures Illustrate the story of these dear friends who had to say good-bye with figures 3-1 through 3-6. Lesson 4 March 25, 2018 Item 3 Photo Chart. God s plan is for His children to show kindness to everyone. This photo chart will help learners understand that people who are different need kindness as well as our best friends. The teacher s guide has a suggestion for using the visual. David Puppet/Add-on Crown Cut out figure 4-1 and attach it with Plasti- Tak (so that you can remove it later) to the top part of David stick puppet, visual 1-1. Finger Puppets The Bible characters tell their story with a little help from your fingers. Cut out figures 4-2 through 4-6. Overlap the tab extensions and staple or tape them together to make a circle of the bottom edge on each puppet. Place a puppet over an index finger and bend your finger slightly to manipulate the puppet. There is a puppet for each person in the Bible story. Lesson 5 April 1, 2018 Flash Cards Cut out visual scenes 5-1 through 5-4. Give extra interest to the visuals by attaching each picture to a piece of construction paper for a background. Show the different scenes as called for in the Bible story.
Lesson 6 April 8, 2018 Bible Story Circle Leave the title tab to use for turning the visual as you cut out the picture circle of scenes 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3. Cut out the cover circle. Place it over the picture circle with scene 6-1 showing through the cut-out part. Insert paper fastener. Turn the picture wheel to show the next scene illustrating the Bible story action. Turn it again for the final scene. tab forward and back to crease. Open the folded paper and push the tab through to the inside to make it stand upright. Glue the back of one of the visual scenes to the front of one of the tabs. Repeat for the other three scenes and paper folds. Glue the back sides of the construction paper folds together to make a book of the visuals. Lesson 7 April 15, 2018 Storyboard Figures Cut out figures 7-1 through 7-7 to use in a Styrofoam storyboard. Figures stand upright in the slits cut across a rectangle piece of 1" thick Styrofoam. Place the background piece, figure 7-2, at the back of the board and arrange the others in different slits in front of it. The three-dimensional scene keeps learners watching and listening. Lesson 8 April 22, 2018 Figures Cut apart the six sections of crucifixion scenes. Ar range them as directed in the teacher s guide Bible story to make a cross pattern of the squares. Lesson 9 April 29, 2018 Pop-up Book Visual Capture and hold attention with this dimensional look visual book. Cut apart scenes 9-1 through 9-4. Fold four sheets of construction paper in half width wise. On the fold side, cut slits about 1 ½'' long and 1'' apart to make a tab. Fold the Lesson 10 May 6, 2018 Figures Three figures, 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3, illustrate details of the story about Elijah going to Heaven. Lesson 11 May 13, 2018 Figures Use figures 11-1 through 11-3 to show the miracle of the widow s multiplying oil. Lesson 12 May 20, 2018 Item 4 Bible Story Character Review. Learners will recall Bible stories from the entire quarter with these review cards. Prepare the series as directed in the teacher s guide for this activity. Storyboard Figures Scene 12-1 stands upright in a Styrofoam storyboard slit as you add figure 12-2 to illustrate Jesus actions in teaching the disciples about greatness and humility. Replace the visual with scene 12-3 to complete the story. Lesson 13 May 27, 2018 Flip-side Visual Trim away the borders and fold visual on the broken line. Spread it apart slightly at the bottom to make a stand-up visual. Simply turn it around to show the next scene.
