Descendants of James Halpin Prepared by James R. Wells, a native of Marshall County and great great grandson of James Halpin. Corrections and additions should be submitted to jrwells40@earthlink.net FIRST GENERATION 1. James Halpin (1810 1862) James Halpin was born in Ireland in 1810. The names of his mother and father are not known. He emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. in 1839, arriving in New York on June 3, 1839 aboard the ship Hark Away. He settled in Jefferson County, Virginia, in the vicinity of Harper s Ferry, and worked as a laborer for the B&O railroad, which was building westward through the mountains toward the Ohio River. He married his first wife Ann in 1840. Ann was born in Maryland in 1820. Her maiden name is unknown but may have been either Harper or Houser. Ann died in late 1850 and James was remarried to his second wife, Elizabeth Cantwell in 1851. Elizabeth was born in Maryland in 1814. James served the confederacy during the Civil War. He enlisted at Charlestown as a Private in Company Glenn s of the 7th Virginia Cavalry regiment on August 31, 1861. He later was transferred into Company A of the 12 th Virginia Cavalry on June 15, 1862. Shortly thereafter he was injured and was returned to his home in Jefferson County. James died as a result of his injuries on September 12, 1862. James and his first wife Ann had the following children: 2. i. James Halpin (1841 - ) 3. ii. Mary A. Halpin (1843-1895) 4. iii. Robert J. Ellen Halpin (1858 - ) SECOND GENERATION 2. James Halpin (James 1 ) was born in 1841 in Jefferson County, Virginia. It appears that he died somewhere between 1851 and 1860 since his name is recorded in the 1850 U.S. census but does not appear in the 1860 census. 3. Mary A. Halpin (James 1 ) was born in Jefferson County, Virginia in 1843. She married William Clarence Ault in Frederick, Maryland on December 26, 1864. William Ault, son of Michael Ault and Charlotte Stover Ault, was born in Maryland 1

on April 7, 1843. He worked as a clerk for the railroad. Following their marriage Mary and William initially lived in Bolivar, Jefferson County, West Virginia but later moved to Grafton, West Virginia. Around 1881 they moved to Wood County, WV where they lived for the rest of their lives. Mary Halpin Ault died on March 13, 1895 in Parkersburg. William Ault died March 26, 1926. They are both buried in Parkersburg. Mary Halpin and William Ault had the following ten children: 9. i. John Ralph Ault (1866 1944) 10. ii. James M. Ault (1868 - ) 11. iii. Lottie W. Allie C. Ault (1885 - ) 18. x. Unknown Ault (Unknown) 4. Robert J. Halpin (James 1 ) was born in February 1847 in Jefferson County, Virginia. He served as a Private in Company D of the 12 th Virginia Cavalry Regiment during the Civil War. Following the war he began working for the railroad and continued to do so throughout his life. He married Mary Anne Higgins in 1864 in Jefferson County, West Virginia. She was a daughter of Edward Higgins and Catherine Kerian Higgins. Mary Anne was born in Ireland in June 1849 and came to the U.S. with her family in 1855. As the railroad progressed westward so did Robert and his family. They lived in Vinton County, Ohio from 1870 to 1880 (based on U.S. census exact dates not known). Robert s stepmother Elizabeth and stepsister Ellen also moved to Vinton County. Shortly after 1880, Robert moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, continuing to work for the railroad. He became a foreman for the railroad and continued to work in Moundsville until he retired. Robert s wife Mary Anne died from paralysis on December 16, 1913 and is buried in St. Martin s Catholic Cemetery in Cameron, West Virginia. Following the death of his wife, Robert moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he lived with his daughter Cecelia and her husband, William Bronsell. Robert died on November 15, 1921 in Shreveport. His body was returned to West Virginia and is buried next to his wife in St. Martin s Catholic Cemetery, Cameron,WV. Robert J. Halpin and Mary Anne Higgins Halpin had the following ten children: 19. i. Unknown Halpin (b. abt 1865) 20. ii. Unknown Halpin (b. abt. 1867) 21. iii. Catherine Halpin (1869 - ) 22. iv. Mary A. John Halpin (James 1 ) was born in Jefferson County, Virginia in 1847. Like his brother Robert, he went to work for the railroad and followed his family to Ohio where he met and married his wife, Frances. Frances was born in Canada in 1853. John and Frances were married in 1872. In 1880 they lived in Marion County, Ohio and later moved to Toledo, Ohio. John Halpin died October 15, 1911 in Toledo. John and Frances had three daughters: 29. i. Anna Halpin (1873-1926) 30. ii. Lillian M. Halpin (1875-1942) 31. iii. Mary Halpin (1886 - ) 6. Patrick Halpin (James 1 ) was born in August, 1849 in Jefferson County, Virginia. After his father s death in 1862 he followed his family westward but did not settle in Ohio. Instead he moved on to Missouri where he met his wife Mary. Mary was born in Missouri in January 1851. Patrick and Mary were married in 1877. He spent his working life as a farmer in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri where he died in????. Patrick and Mary had a total of nine children: 32. i. Annie Halpin (1877 - ) 33. ii. George Halpin (1878 - ) 34. iii. Sarah Halpin (1884 - ) 35. iv. (Note the three unknown children were born and died between 1881 and 1900) 7. Jane (Jennie) Halpin (James 1 ) was born in 1856 in Jefferson County, Virginia. She moved with her mother Elizabeth to Vinton County, Ohio around 1870. Jane married Charles Kavanaugh in 1877. They continued to live in Vinton County. Jane and Charles had two daughters: 41. i. Margaret Kavanaugh (1877-1932) 42. ii. Mary Kavanaugh (1879 - ) 3

8. Ellen Halpin (James 1 ) was born in Jefferson County, Virginia in 1858. Like her sister Jane, she moved to Vinton County, Ohio. She married John Casey in 1853. John Casey was born in Canada in May, 1858. John Casey worked as a locomotive engineer for the railroad. From 1900 through at least 1930 they lived in Columbus, Ohio. Ellen Halpin Casey died sometime after 1930. Ellen and John had five children: 43. i. Cecelia Casey (1885 - ) 44. ii. Ralph John Casey (1886 - ) 45. iii. Grace Casey (1888 - ) 46. iv. Helen Casey (1894 - ) 47. v. Margaret Casey (1898 - ) THIRD GENERATION 9. John Ralph Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Samples Manor, Maryland on April 21, 1866. He married Mary Ellen McNulty in St. Xavier s Church, Wood County, West Virginia on August 15, 1888. Mary Ellen was born in West Virginia on December 24, 1862. John and Mary Ellen lived their entire married lives together in Parkersburg, West Virginia where he was employed as a clerk/bookkeeper for Standard Oil. John Ault died in St. Joseph s Hospital, Parkersburg from uremia on January 23, 1944. He is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Parkersburg. John and Mary Ellen had two children: 48. i. Annie Loretta. Ault (1888 1950) 49. ii. Ralph Gregory Ault (1903 1950) 10. James M. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Virginia in 1868. He and his wife Irene were married in 1897. In 1900 they lived in Wilmerding, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. No more records have yet been found. 11. Lottie W. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Bolivar, Jefferson County, West Virginia in 1870. No records beyond 1880 have yet been found. 12. Sarah V. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Bolivar, Jefferson County, West Virginia in 1872. No records of her have yet been found beyond 1880. 13. Annie M. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Bolivar, Jefferson County, West Virginia on November 13, 1873. Sometime between 1900 and 1910 she moved to Johnson County, Texas where she was employed in a railroad office. She married her husband Henry E. Culter in Texas in 1913. Henry, son of John W, Culter and Elizabeth Hawkins Culter was born in Illinois in November, 1867. Henry was employed as the stationmaster at the Union Depot, Santa Fe Railroad, in Galveston, Texas. Annie Ault Culter died in Tarrant County, Texas on April 3, 1943. 4

Annie and Henry had one daughter: 50. i. Mary E. Culter (1915 - ) 14. Gertrude M. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia on July 19, 1876. She died on March 9, 1899 from consumption stemming from typhoid fever. She was not married. 15. Joseph Edward Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Grafton, West Virginia on March 26, 1880. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 30, 1901. Joseph married Laura Gray, daughter of Isaac and Luly Miller Gray on October 29, 1917 in Wheeling, WV. Laura was born January 4, 1893 in Wheeling. Joseph and Laura resided in Preston County, West Virginia where he worked as a carpenter for the coal mines. Joseph and Laura Ault had six children: 51. i. Shirley M. Ault (1918 - ) 52. ii. Mary S. Ault (1920 - ) 53. iii. Anna M. Ault (1921 - ) 54. iv. Lawrence U. Ault (1923 - ) 55. v. Clara L. Ault (1925 - ) 56. vi. Joseph W. Ault (1926 - ) 16. Charles William Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Parkersburg, WV on October 19, 1882. He resided in Parkersburg for most of his adult life. Charles was employed as a clerk for Standard Oil. He married Nettie Blossom Blovin in Parkersburg on February 29, 1908. Nettie was born in Chautauqua County, New York in 1887. Charles and his family resided at 1027 Laird Ave. in Parkersburg. Sometime between 1942 and 1945 Charles and his family moved to Dade County, Florida. Charles and Nettie had three children: 57. i. John C. Ault (1910-1985) 58. ii. Richard Ault (1915-1999) 59. iii. Harriett Ault (1918 - ) 17. Allie C. Ault (Mary Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in November, 1885, probably in Grafton, WV. In 1900 she was living with her family in Grafton. No other records for her have yet been found. 21. Catherine Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Vinton County, Ohio in October, 1869. She lived with her family in Vinton County until they moved to Moundsville, WV shortly after 1880. In 1900 she was still living at home in Moundsville with her 5

patents and siblings. At that time she was working as a teacher. No later records for her have yet been found. 22. Mary A. Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Vinton County, Ohio in June, 1873. She moved to Moundsville, WV with her family shortly after 1880. Mary graduated from Moundsville High School in 1892. She was married to Thomas J. Lacey in Moundsville on September 7, 1905. Thomas, born in New York October 8, 1866, was a son of Mathew and Johanna Burke Lacey. Like her sister Catherine, Mary also worked as a teacher in the Marshall County schools. Thomas and Mary lived in Moundsville until her death. She died tragically from suicide by hanging on June 16, 1928. She was buried at Martins Ferry, Ohio. Mary and Thomas had one daughter: 60. i. Agnes T. Lacey (1906 1993) 23. Agnes T. Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Zaleski, Vinton County, Ohio February 24, 1875. She married James Nesbitt Wells on April 20, 1907. They were married in St. Francis Xavier Church in Moundsville, WV. James was a son of Charles Prather Wells and Martha Nesbitt Wells. He was born at Wells Bottom, Marshall County, WV on January 30, 1876. In the early years of their marriage they lived on their farm in Wells Bottom in southern Marshall County. In about 1922 they moved to a home at 312 Tenth Street in Moundsville where they lived until James death. James Nesbitt Wells died August 6, 1949. Following his death Agnes lived with her daughter Martha at 915 Sixth Street in Moundsville. Agnes died on September 9, 1955. She is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV. Agnes and James had three children: 61. i. Charles Prather Wells (1908 1998) 62. ii. Robert Halpin Wells (1910 1953) 63. iii. Martha Wells (1912 1990) 24. Jennie M. Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Zaleski, Ohio in October, 1876. She moved to Moundsville with her family shortly after 1880. Jennie graduated from Moundsville High School in 1895. She married Thomas M. Reese in Moundsville on September 26, 1906. Thomas Reese, son of John and Mary Reese, was born in Wales in May, 1872. Following their marriage, Jennie and Thomas lived in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania where Thomas was a Justice of The Peace. No records beyond 1920 have yet been found. Jennie and Thomas had five children: 64. i. Thomas Reese (1907-1982) 65. ii. John Paul Reese (1910 - ) 66. iii. Mary J. Reese (1912 - ) 6

67. iv. Catherine C. Reese (1915 - ) 68. v. Robert D. Reese (1917 - ) 25. Joseph M. Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Zaleski, Ohio in February, 1879. His family moved to Moundsville, WV shortly after 1880. Joseph worked as a laborer for the railroad in Moundsville. He died in November, 1907. We was not married. 26. Cecelia Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Zaleski, Ohio on October 23, 1882. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Moundsville, West Virginia. She graduated from Moundsville High School in 1898. Cecelia was married to William F. Bronsell in the Catholic Church in Moundsville on October 15, 1903. William was born in Cook County, Illinois in 1875. For several years after their marriage Cecelia and William lived in Moundsville. In 1911 they moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where William was employed as an oil field laborer. They lived in Shreveport until their deaths. Cecelia died in October, 1970. Cecelia and William had three children: 69. i. Mary F. Bronsell (1904 - ) 70. ii. Elanore Bronsell (1906 - ) 71. iii. William T. Bronsell (1911-1973) 27. Robert Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Moundsville, West Virginia October 21, 1883. He died in Moundsville from pneumonia on April 28, 1904. He was not married. 28. Christopher Columbus Halpin (Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Moundsville, WV December 9, 1884. At the time he registered for the draft (1918) for World War I he was living in Jacksonville, Tennessee. He was working as a laborer for Mason & Hanger, Co, an engineering and construction company. In 1942 when he registered for the draft for World War II he was living at 734 Howard St. in San Francisco, California but was about to move to Great Falls, Montana. Both draft registration records indicate that he was missing his left arm. It is not known whether this was due to an injury or a birth defect. He does not appear to have been married. 29. Anna Halpin (John 2, James 1 ) was born in Marion County, Ohio in July, 1873. The family later moved to Toledo, Ohio. Throughout her life, Anna lived at home with her parents in Toledo, Ohio. She was not employed and never married. Anna Halpin died in Toledo, Ohio on June 10, 1926. 30. Lillian Halpin (John 2, James 1 ) was born in Marion County, Ohio in November, 1875. Like her sister, Anna, Lillian also lived at home with her parents in Toledo, Ohio. She was employed as a stenographer with a glass company. She does not appear to have ever married. Lillian Halpin died in Toledo, Ohio on October 28, 1942. 7

31. Mary Halpin (John 2, James 1 ) was born in Ohio in August, 1886. Mary also lived in Toledo, Ohio with her parents. She was not employed. Mary died in Toledo, Ohio on April 3, 1918. 32. Annie Halpin (Patrick 2, James 1 ) was born in 1877 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. She died at age eight on September 8, 1885 in Saline Township, Perry County, Missouri. 33. George Edward Halpin (Patrick 2, James 1 ) was born in Missouri on August 30, 1878. He married his wife Lizzie in 1907. At the time of his World War I draft registration he was a farmer living in Clay County, Arkansas. Sometime between 1920 and 1930 they moved to California. In 1930 George and Lizzie lived in Pasadena, CA where Lizzie was employed as a waitress and George was unemployed. They do not appear to have had any children. 34. Sarah Halpin (Patrick 2, James 1 ) was born in Saline Township, Missouri on October 1, 1884. As of 1900 she was living at home with her parents in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. No later records have yet been found. 35. Charles Patrick Halpin (Patrick 2, James 1 ) was born in Missouri on March 28, 1888. He married Dollie G. Fenton in St. Francois County, Missouri on July 19, 1910. Dollie Fenton, born in 1891 in Illinois, was a daughter of Bartholomew Fenton. In 1916 when he registered for the draft he was a farmer in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. Charles died sometime between 1916 and 1920, possibly as a war casualty although there is no record to document this. Charles and Dollie had two daughters: 72. i. Beaulah M. He was married to Bertha E. Elders in Kennett, Missouri on June 27, 1914. Bertha, a daughter of William and Julia Porter Elders, was born in Madison County, Missouri April 13, 1896. In 1920 William and Bertha were living with William s parents where he assisted his father in farming. By 1930 they had their own farm in Ste. Genevieve County. William died on September 22, 1967 in Fredericktown Missouri. He is buried in Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. William and Bertha had five children: 74. i. Ella Halpin 75. ii. Michael, born in Birmingham, England in 1870, came to the U.S. around 1882. Michael and Margaret resided in Youngstown, Ohio where he was a tavern owner. Margaret died in Youngstown on July 13, 1932. No later records have yet been found. 44. Ralph John Casey (Ellen Casey 2, James 1 ) was born in Columbus, Ohio July 22, 1886. He married Anna E. Jaeger in Columbus in 1918. Anna, born in 1886 in Ohio, was a daughter of Albert W. Jaeger. Ralph and Anna lived in the Columbus area their entire lives. Ralph was employed as a locomotive engineer for the railroad. John H. and Jennine Gambs, was born in Ohio on March 21, 1891. John and Helen lived their entire married lives in Columbus, Ohio where he was employed as a salesman. FOURTH GENERATION 48. Loretto A. Ault (John Ralph Ault 3, Mary Halpin Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on May 23, 1889. She married William Frederick Noll in Parkersburg in 1910. William, a son of William H. Noll, was born in Pittsburgh, PA June 16, 1890. At the time of their marriage, William was employed as a laborer in a furniture upholstering operation in Parkersburg. Sometime before 1917 they moved to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania where he worked as a foreman for a furniture upholsterer. Sometime after 1930, Loretto and William were divorced and she moved back to Parkersburg. She died in Parkersburg November 23, 1950 and was buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Loretto and William had two sons: 84. i. William Frederick Noll, Jr. (1911 1960) 85. ii. Richard G. Noll (1913 - ) 49. Ralph Gregory Ault (John Ralph Ault 3, Mary Halpin Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on July 23, 1901. He married Elizabeth Barbara Hines in Parkersburg on April 12, 1928. They lived in Parkersburg where Ralph was employed as a shipping clerk. Ralph died December 19, 1950 in St. Joseph s Hospital in Parkersburg. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage as a result of a fall in their home. At the time of his death, Ralph was employed as a salesman in the advertising business. Ralph and Elizabeth had a son: 86. i. Baron on July 11, 1941 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Robert, born in Wheeling in 1918, was a son of William and Jane Baron. No later records have yet been found. 52. Mary S. He married Edverna Belle Postlethwait in New Martinsville, WV on December 13, 1936. Edverna, born in Wetzel County, WV March 15, 1908, was a daughter of William J. and Edna Norris Postlethwait. Sometime around 1942 they moved to Dade County, Florida along with John s father, Charles. John died in Dade County on December 17, 1985. Edverna died in Miami, Florida on October 1, 2001. No record of children has yet been found. 58. Richard B. Ault (Charles William Ault 3, Mary Halpin Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on November 28, 1915. He moved with his family to Dade County, Florida around 1942. At some time later he moved to North Dakota. Richard died in Jamestown, North Dakota on January 17, 1999. No records of a marriage or children have yet been found. 59. Harriett S. Ault (Charles William Ault 3, Mary Halpin Ault 2, James 1 ) was born in Parkers burg, WV in 1918. 60. Agnes T. Lacey (Mary 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Wellsburg, West Virginia on October 27, 1906. She lived with her family in Moundsville, WV. Agnes graduated from Moundsville High School in 1923. Following her mother s suicide in 1928 she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana to live with her aunt, Cecelia Halpin Bronsell. In Shreveport she was employed as a stenographer and private secretary in the oil industry. She later moved to Houston, Texas, continuing her employment in the oil industry. Agnes died in Houston on November 17, 1993. She was never married. 61. Charles Prather Wells (Agnes 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Marshall County, WV on May 1, 1908. He graduated from Moundsville High School in 1927, received an AB Degree from West Liberty State College in 1929, and an MA Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1931. Charles was married to Grace Lillian Raymer on November 10, 1931 in St. Francis Xavier Church in Moundsville, WV. Grace, a daughter of Isaac Newton Raymer and Mary Ellen Trouten Raymer, was born in Kirkwood, Ohio April 24, 1909. Charles became principal of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, West Virginia in 1939. He held that position until he retired in 1973. Charles and Grace continued to live in Summersville until his death on January 29, 1998. After Charles death, Grace moved to Clearwater, Florida to live with her daughter, Jean Wells Foster. Grace died August 30, 2009 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Charles and Grace had two daughters: 87. i. Jean Wells (Private) 88. ii. Patricia Joan Wells (1933-1992) 62. Robert Halpin Wells (Agnes 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born on the J. N. Wells farm, Wells Bottom, Marshall County on March 24, 1910. He was married to Maxine Mason on June 16, 1939 in St. Francis Xavier Church, Moundsville. Maxine Mason, born June 16, 1915, was a daughter of Archibald Mason and Georgia McKimmie. Robert attended Moundsville High School, graduating from the Commercial Course in 1928. He lettered in baseball in his junior and senior years and also played basketball. Following graduation, he was employed at the Fokker Aircraft Company in Glen Dale, WV. The 1930 U.S. Census lists his occupation as bookkeeper. He remained at Fokker until the closure of that operation in 1931. In 1934, he entered West Liberty State College. He received his Standard Normal Degree in August 1936 after which he taught school in Marshall County. It was during this time that he met Maxine Mason who also was a teacher in Marshall County. Their betrothal was announced in the spring of 1939. At that time, Robert was employed at the West Virginia State Penitentiary. Following their marriage, Robert and Maxine lived on Jefferson Avenue immediately across the street from the penitentiary. Sometime in the mid-1940 s they moved to a new home at 1511 Seventh Street, Moundsville. 12

In December of 1939, Robert Wells was appointed to serve as secretary to the warden of the penitentiary, Leo Collison. In 1943, he became the manager of the business office of the penitentiary, a position he held until his death. Robert Wells was a member of the Young Democrats Club. He became well known both in Marshall County and across the state for his work in support of Democrat Party candidates. He served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1951 and 1952. Robert died unexpectedly on February 28, 1953 in Charleston, West Virginia. He was in Charleston on official business for the penitentiary. The cause of death was diabetes. He is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Martinsville. Robert and Maxine had four children: 89. i. James Robert Wells (Private) 90. ii. Martha Anne Wells (1941-1986) 91. iii. Mary Theresa Wells (Private) 92. iv. Elizabeth Jane Wells (Private) 63. Martha Wells (Agnes 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born at Wells Bottom, Marshall County, WV on October 14, 1912. She graduated from Moundsville High School in 1930. She married Ruel Dial in Moundsville on August 14, 1945. Ruel, born April 29, 1909 in Branchland, WV, was a son of J. Burgess and Carrie Dial. Martha and Ruel had two children: 93. i. Mary Agnes Dial (Private) 94. ii. James W. Dial (1948 2002) Martha Wells Dial died in Dallas, Texas in January, 1990. Ruel Dial died in Richmond, Virginia in November, 1976. 64. Thomas Reese (Jennie 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born on July 23, 1907 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from high School in Canonsburg and attended two years of college. He married his wife Beatrice in 1929. Beatrice was born in Ohio in 1911. During their marriage, which was short-lived, they lived in Akron, Ohio where Thomas worked in a tire factory and Beatrice was a telephone operator. Thomas and Beatrice divorced (date not certain) and Thomas moved back to Canonsburg. They had no children. He enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Private on July 30, 1942. Details of his service have not yet been found. Thomas died in Canonsburg in April of 1982. 13

Reese (Jennie 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Canonsburg, PA in 1912. She graduated from high school in Canonsburg. In 1930 she was a student nurse at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. No records past 1930 have yet been found. 67. Catherine C. Reese (Jennie 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Canonsburg, PA in 1915. No records past 1920 have yet been found. 68. Robert D. Reese (Jennie 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Canonsburg, PA in 1917. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 3, 1941. At that time he was living in Erie County, New York. No other records have yet been found. 69. Mary F. Bronsell (Cecelia 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Moundsville, WV on September 30, 1904. She moved with her family to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1911. No record past 1920 has yet been found. 70. Elanore Cecelia Bronsell (Cecelia 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Moundsville, WV April 9, 1906. 71. William Francis Bronsell (Cecelia 3, Robert 2, James 1 ) was born in Hope, Arkansas on August 15, 1911. Sometime after 1930 he married Olive Head. He died on October 14, 1973 in Nacogdoches, Texas. 14
