aking the Blocks Refer to the following directions to make one Block and one Block 2 using pieces A G cut from a colorful solid fabric square and pieces H N cut from a coordinating colorful print fabric square. Sew piece D to the left side to create a ring/box around the center piece H. Step 2: Sew piece L to the top of the pieced unit. Sew piece to the right side, and the other piece to the bottom. Sew piece N to the left side to fi nish the block. At this stage, before it is sewn into the quilt, the block should measure 6-/2 x 6-/2. aking the Quilt Top Quilt Top Assembly Diagram Step : Arrange the blocks in ten rows of eight blocks each, alternating Block Styles and 2 in a checkerboard pattern. Step 2: Sew together the blocks in each row, sewing a Vertical Sashing piece between each block, beginning and ending with a block. Step 3: Sew together the rows, sewing a Horizontal Sashing piece between each row, beginning and ending with a row. Step 4: Sew the Vertical Border pieces to the left and right sides, and the Horizontal Border pieces to the top and bottom to fi nish the 62 x 77 quilt top. page 0

Step : Arrange the forty Back Swatch pieces cut from the solid fabrics in four rows of 0. Step 2: Sew together the pieces in each row, sewing a white (cut from the background fabric) piece O between each swatch, beginning and ending with a swatch. Step 3: Sew together the rows, sewing a white piece P between each row, beginning and ending with a row. Step 4: Sew a white piece Q to the bottom and a white piece R to the top of the pieced unit. Sew the white pieces S to the left and right sides to make the top half of the quilt back. Step 5: Arrange the forty Back Swatch pieces cut from the print fabrics in four rows of ten. Step 6: Sew together the pieces in each row, sewing a taupe piece O between each swatch, beginning and ending with a swatch. Step 7: Sew together the rows, sewing a taupe piece P between each row, beginning and ending with a row. Step 8: Sew a taupe piece Q to the top and a taupe piece R to the bottom of the pieced unit. Sew the taupe pieces S to the left and right sides to make the bottom half of the quilt back. Step 9: Refer to the Quilt Back Assembly Diagram to sew together the top and bottom halves of the quilt back, creating a quilt back 68 x 83. Finishing the Quilt Sandwich and quilt as desired. From binding fabric, cut seven strips 2-/2 x WOF and bind as desired. page 2
