Basecoat the entire piece with Black Plum. Let dry. Transfer the main lines of the design. Painting Instructions: Pine Background Hauser Medium Green, Hauser Dark Green, Forest Green-Using your liner brush pull in all the needles on the stem. Use all three colors and try to cross the stems so that the branch will look full. Let dry. Snow White Continue with your liner and add the snow to the tops of the needles. Ornaments Lilac Base in the top ornament Bahama Blue Base in the middle ornament 1
Light Buttermilk Base in the bottom ornament Transfer the design elements Lilac Ornament Pansy Lavender Float a shade all around the circumference of the bulb Light Buttermilk Using your favorite drybrush, add a highlight to the center of the bulb Bahama Blue Add the curvy lines across the ornament Light Buttermilk Place a curvy line on the Bahama Blue lines Pansy Lavender Refloat the shade setting back the decorative lines Bahama Blue Ornament Desert Turquoise Float a shade around the circumference of the Bulb Snow White Dry brush a highlight in the center of the bulb Emperor s Gold Add the gold trim lines Desert Turquoise Refloat the shade setting back the decorative lines Poinsettia Bulb Desert Sand Float a shade all around the circumference of the bulb Burnt Sienna Deepen the above shade keeping it smaller Antique Mauve Base in the poinsettia Forest Green Base in the center Alizarin Crimson Float a shade where one petal lies under another, around the center and under the flip Cranberry Wine Deepen the above shade keeping it smaller. With your liner add the vein lines. Boysenberry Pink Float a highlight where a petal lines above another, usually directly across from your shading Petal Pink Brighten the above highlight keeping it smaller (Snow) White Place a very skinny float on the petals that appear to be highest on the top Glorious Gold Base in the caps of all three ornaments Hauser Medium Green Base in the circles in the center of the poinsettia Limeade Float a c stroke at the top of each circle Golden Straw With you liner tap Golden Straw 2
all around the top of the circle Cranberry Wine Add dot in the center of each circle Hauser Medium Green Add the tendrils with your liner White Place a back to back float down the center of each ornament cap Burnt Sienna Place a float down each side of each cap Black Green Place a watery float around each of the ornaments, setting them back into the pine Ribbon Red Alert Base in the ribbon on all three ornaments Napa Red Float around the knot, where the ribbon leaves the ornament and where it disappears into the pine Hot Shots/Neons Fiery Red With your liner place a highlight on the curves of each ribbon Emperor s Gold Place the comma stokes at the four corners of the base and around the top of the candle holder. Finishing: Spray with several coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher Matte. 3
