A3422 XMTDR Digital Return Optical Transmitter Module The A3422 XMTDR digital return optical transmitter allows RF reverse path signals to be sent back to headend via a single fiber. The RF signal is routed to the input of the digital return transmitter via the optical interface module. A -20 db test point on the transmitter is available for measuring RF signal levels to the laser. The drive level is adjusted with a plug-in pad. The transmitter is made of ADC/multiplexing circuit and a DFB laser with 1310 nm, 1550 nm or ITU-T CWDM wavelength. The return transmitter features multiple available wavelengths on the ITU-T standard grid, low distortion characteristics, low RIN noise, and high side mode suppression. The A3422 XMTDR laser transmitter converts the reverse path RF electrical signals into an optical form and launches the resulting optical signal into the fiber back to the HFC headend receiver.
