As stated above there are many different types of stone available in hundreds of variations and colours. However, because of this, one has to be very careful when purchasing a memorial stone. There are many different grades of stone and a huge selection of quarries from all around the world supplying them. We supply the top grades available. We would like to point out, that we use only natural materials and therefore it is possible that when choosing one of the colours shown, an exact copy will not be possible, as the shading or graining is likely to differ slightly. Colours can also vary from one quarry to another. The types of stone most commonly used for memorial stones are: Yorkshire Sandstone, Marble and Granite. Yorkshire Sandstone This stone is quarried locally; it is a sandy material and can also change colour as a result of the weather. At one time this stone was very popular. As more choice is now available; people use it far less. An advantage of this stone is that it is cheaper than marble and the lettering itself stays in good condition. This stone is very durable. Marble The marble we use comes from Italy and is of the finest quality. However, there are two main problems with marble; the first is that it gets dirty very quickly. Secondly, it is a porous material and it will be harmed by the bad weather, especially the acid rain. Unfortunately, there is nothing anyone can do about this. The only thing we can do, is to supply the finest top grade marble, in order that it should not deteriorate as quickly as cheaper quality marble used by many other companies can do. The good thing about marble is that it is cost effective. We are at present working on a special chemical which will eventually be used to preserve memorial stones and stop them from reacting badly to weather conditions. When this will be completed, we will be the only stockist of this chemical solution. 2
Granite Granite is the most superior quality material available, which is why it is so popular. It is strong, long-lasting, easy to clean, attractive and non-porous. A tremendous amount of work goes into making this stone beautifully polished and ready to engrave, from its original raw state. The only disadvantage is the price. However, when you think about all the assets that this stone has, the price really does reflect this beautiful quality stone. Mixed Marble & Granite There is one option which some people go for and that is half marble, half granite. The advantage of this is that the marble brings down the cost of a memorial stone made only of granite, and the granite cover slab allows the stone and engraving to last a considerable length of time and also prevents the memorial stone absorbing the weather. 3

This means that all lettering, pictures and designs are engraved to perfection. We are also able to engrave any kind of lettering and design required. Inscriptions We specialise in all inscriptions and will spend with you as many hours as you want to help you choose the appropriate wording at no extra cost. We can help you in all aspects of the wording, whether you choose all Hebrew or Hebrew and English. Every letter that we engrave is done to perfection. This means that all letters are equal in size, proportion and depth, every letter looks like the letter it is meant to be. These factors are extremely important and because we are the only company with this expertise in inscriptions, we can ensure the letters are engraved to perfection. Fees All burial authorities charge an admission fee for new memorials. The fees tend to vary from Shul to Shul and from authority to authority, depending on who owns the relevant plot of land. We pay these fees on behalf of our client. These fees are not included in the price of the memorial stone, but are an extra and will be paid separately. Rules & Regulations There are some cemeteries that have fixed rules about the type of stone, design or dimensions to be used. In those cases we are obliged to adhere to all rules. Apart from those cases we can supply and design anything our customer s desire. Our Prices We believe our prices are fair and reflective of the quality workmanship. Our aim is to cater for every budget and we are happy to try and help. All our memorial stones are guaranteed for 5 years. All our work is fully guaranteed and exclusively carried out. Insurance Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed We cannot guarantee against weather, vandalism and general wear and tear. For this reason we can sell you insurance to cover risks that might exist at a very small cost, to give you peace of mind for the future. We can also sell you insurance for old memorials, if they are not insured already. Mishnayis / Kaddish Special Prayers Our services go far beyond supplying a memorial. In memory of your loved ones, we can arrange for Kaddish to be said and Mishnayis to be learnt. We also can supply beautiful candle holders with your dear departed s name engraved on it, - for the Yohrtzeit anniversary of death.
