Emerald's Lace A Bath Set by Tabitha's Heart The idea for this bath set came from a lace panel for a shawl I knit for one of the widows of our congregation, Ms. Emerald. As I was knitting it, I realized that the medallion would make a lovely wash cloth and towel set for Mother's Day gifts. It is only fitting that the design bears her name. I have included a lace motif on both ends of the towel, just to give myself something to look forward to at the end of the of the towel. However, if you prefer a more substantial towel, you can substitute stockinette for the 28 rows of the second lace repeat. I have inserted a note to at the point in the pattern where you would make this change. Supplies 100% cotton worsted weight yarn (1-2.5-ounce (70 g) ball for wash cloth, 5-2.5 ounce (70 g) balls for towel. 1-16-ounce (453 g) cone will make a towel and leave enough yarn leftover for several washcloths. There might even be enough yarn for two towels but I haven't tested that theory. US 8 (5.0mm) knitting needles (or size to obtain gauge) Tapestry needle
