Discuss FOUR (4) major factors that should be considered for selection of machining centre. Pemilihan pusat pemesinan adalah penting untuk pengeluaran optimum. Bincangkan EMPAT (4) faktor utama yang patut dipertimbangkan untuk pemilihan pusat pemesinan. (30 marks/markah) In the design of machine tool, many factors must be considered. Discuss FOUR (4) of these major factors. Dalam rekabentuk peralatan mesin, banyak faktor yang mesti dipertimbangkan. Bincangkan EMPAT (4) daripada faktor-faktor utama tersebut. Q2. [a] List down FIVE (5) elements of cost in machining process. Senaraikan LIMA (5) elemen kos dalam proses pemesinan [b] In a turning process using a CNC lathe, one insert with two faces is used to machine a few cylindrical bars. Each bar is machined along a 10 cm length, at a feedrate of 0.5 mm/revolution and 200 rpm of workpiece rotation. Determine the machining time, T m for the process. Dalam satu proses larikan menggunakan pelarik CNC, satu insert dengan dua mata digunakan untuk memesin beberapa batang silinder. -3- Referring to Q2[b] and given the following information for the process: Number workpiece machined = 20, Number of insert used = 1, number of faces on the insert = 2, Time needed to index the insert = 60 seconds, Time needed to regrind the faces = 60 seconds, Total loading/unloading time for the 20 workpieces = 5 minutes. Determine the average time taken to produce 1 workpiece, T p? Bincangkan sebab-sebab kenapa pemesinan termaju diperlukan dan dalam keadaan manakah penggunaannya adalah boleh dijustifikasikan. Differentiate between any TWO (2) of advanced machining processes in terms of their characteristics and applications. Bezakan antara mana-mana DUA (2) kumpulan pemesinan termaju dari segi ciriciri dan penggunaan mereka. Q4. [a] List the procedures or logical steps in writing an NC part programming. Senaraikan prosedur atau langkah-langkah logikal di dalam penulisan sesuatu pengatucaraan bahagian NC. 4/-

-4- [b] (i) Write brief notes of what take place for each block instruction in the NC part program listing as given in Appendix 1. Please indicate the important coordinates, the cutter paths direction and sequence of operations. Darken the island section of the final machined component.
