FIRST GRADE DUAL LANGUAGE SUPPLY LIST 2014-2015 Southdown Primary School Below is a list of supplies your child will need for first grade. Please send in all materials on the first day of school. Please note that many of these items will be shared as a class. We have found that the community system works very well with certain supplies. It is not necessary to label everything, only what is noted as labeled. 1 large backpack (without wheels) 50 sharpened #2 yellow pencils (Ticonderoga pencils are best!) 1 box of Eraser tops 2 boxes of crayons labeled with name (maximum of 24 & no glitter crayons) 2 boxes of colored pencils* 2 black Sharpie markers (fine point) 5 glue sticks (white glue preferred)* 3 composition notebooks labeled with name (NO SPIRALS) *1 purple *2 black 1 bottle of Elmer s glue 1 bottom pocket folder labeled with name 2 pairs of children s scissors labeled with name (Fiskars are best!) 1 box of Ziploc bags (sandwich size) these will be used for their supplies! 1 box of tissues No individual pencil sharpeners needed!! *The following items usually need to be replenished throughout the year. You may want to buy a bigger quantity in the summer and keep them in a safe place. pencils, glue sticks, eraser tops, colored pencils, dry erase markers *Your child will also need a lunch or lunch money and a healthy snack and drink each day. Insulated lunch bags work well and those who often bring money may want to have a coin purse or wallet to keep it in. Many of these supplies are available at Target, Kmart, Staples, Office Max, CVS, etc. Watch for sales during the early summer. It may also be easier to find all of the colors for the notebooks earlier in the season. Any additional supplies, specific to individual classrooms will be discussed at Meet the Teacher Night.
