Mix Tables Mix Table Series The Mix Table Series exemplifies Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen s emphasis on simple, ingenious and functional concepts that meet high aesthetic and quality standards. Mix Tables derive strength and light weight from a honeycomb core and engineered construction. Tops are available in a generous variety of sizes and shapes including square, rectangular, circular, half round, pebble, half pebble and D-shape. Configurations of compatible dimensions can be combined to meet the need for larger compositions. The series offers further design flexibility with several different bases including wood, steel and folding legs.
Designers NIELS GAMMELGAARD Butterfly Series Niels Gammelgaard graduated from The Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He has won numerous prizes for his work as a designer. Niels inspiration derives primarily from professor Erik Herløw of the Royal Danish Academy as well as from Walther Gropius, Hannes Meyer and Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Le Corbusier. He favors functional and honest idioms that are minimalist, yet expressive. LONE STORGAARD/DESIGN CONCERN i-sit Founder of the Design Concern studio and winner of international design awards, her focus is innovation and design that works. She strives for great function and aesthetics that go hand in hand to fit user needs. All businesses can benefit from good design - strategic design must be incorporated in every business plan. PELIKAN DESIGN Inferno Pelikan Design was co-founded in 1978 by Niels Gammelgaard (1944) and Lars Mathiesen (1950). They are both architects by education from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1970 and 1977 respectively. Both are architects specializing in industrial design who favor functional and unpretentious idioms that are minimalist, yet expressive. They have worked within a broad spectrum of industrial design and designed hundreds of products ranging from small pencils, children s tricycles, hospital beds to furniture. RUD THYGESEN + JOHNNY SØRENSEN 8000 Series Mix Table Series Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen graduated from the Danish School of Arts, Crafts and Design in 1966. They opened their own design studio the same year. Since then, the collaborators have crafted many iconic furniture designs. They have contributed considerably to the development of laminated and molded wood design and created some of the most successful Danish furniture. Their work is displayed in museums across the globe. BUSK + HERTZOG Flow Sputnik Flemming Busk and Stephan Hertzog established their studio in 2000, and today are the most award-winning Danish designers of their generation. Busk + Hertzog s design sensibility is seen in sculptural, clean lines and a simple expression with minimal embellishment. They often are inspired by shapes and lines found in nature. Several of their designs are part of permanent exhibitions at design museums around the world. The design duo is now based in London.
