Robert Gordon, Master Mariner, Solicitor & MD of SeaProf Executive Education After 20 years at sea as a deck officer, shipmaster and pilot, Robert came ashore to study maritime law at the University of Southampton. He then qualified as a Solicitor and practiced as a partner with London maritime lawyers, Thomas Cooper Law. Robert moved to in 1995 and founded SEAsia P&I Services, specialising in marine casualty investigation and defence. As the MD of SeaProf, he now lectures on ship management, marine insurance and maritime law on the NTU MSc in Maritime Studies course in. Wilson Foo, Shipbroker, S&P Division, Fearnleys, Wilson joined Fearnleys as a trainee shipbroker in 2014. After gaining hands on training in a market facing a challenging global economy, he now specialises in the Dry Bulker and Tanker S&P markets. Wilson s focus is on assisting clients in South East Asia. Wilson obtained a BA in Communications from Curtin University, Perth. He later completed a postgrad Master of Applied Finance degree at Macquarie University, Sydney. Harry Jamieson, Shipbroker, S&P Division, Fearnleys. Harry joined Fearnleys as a trainee shipbroker in 2016. Shipping overcapacity generated a high level of S&P and demolition deals together with intense on the job training. Harry also specialises in the Dry Bulk and Tanker S&P markets, with a focus on South East Asia. He holds a BA in Economics and Business from the University of West of England. 1
Capt. Pradeep Desawar, Master Mariner, MD of marine consultants, Gini Maritime Pte Ltd. Pradeep spent 20 years serving at sea as a deck officer and Master on board General Cargo Ships, Bulk Carriers and Container Carriers. On moving ashore, he gained extensive experience in Marine & Cargo Surveys, Container Cargo Operations and Ship Management as GM of PIL. During this time, he obtained his MSc degree in Maritime Studies from NTU. He then moved on to become GM of Asiatic Lloyd Ship Management, with responsibility for the in-house Technical Management of a fleet of new design shallow draft container vessels. Pradeep is now a Maritime Consultant, with a special interest in maritime executive education. Sigrid Teig, former Corporate Risk Manager, Western Bulk ASA, and General Manager, Western Bulk, Sigrid started working at Western Bulk Pte. Ltd with a focus on market risk management. She was later promoted to Corporate Risk Manager for counterpart risk for the Western Bulk Group and General Manager of Western Bulk. Sigrid is a Board Member of the Norwegian Business Association in. She has guest lectured on business philosophy, operations and risk management techniques on the NTU MSc in Martime Studies and at NSA Maritime Trainee sessions in. Sigrid holds a MSc. in Economics and Business Administration, with a Specialisation in Business Analysis and Performance Management, from the Norwegian School of Business and Economics. Dr Yap Wei Yim, Lecturer, University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Management University (SMU) Wei Yim spent seven years with the MPA as their head of strategic planning. His remit included maritime and port cluster development, long term forecasts and port competition assessments. Wei Yim now provides maritime and port consultancy inclusive of shipping centre development, bunkering, ship registry, container shipping and hinterland logistics. A graduate of NUS, Wei Yim obtained his PhD in Maritime Economics from the University of Antwerp. He has published extensively in leading journals including Maritime Policy and Management, Journal of Transport Geography, Maritime Economics and Logistics and several others. 2
Christian Nolting, Director of Ship Finance Asia Pacific, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, Branch Christian started his career in corporate banking with Deutsche Bank in Germany in 2001. He later relocated to Asia, where he worked in a variety of ship finance roles in Hong Kong and. Now with NORD/LB, Christian s current focus is on assisting clients in the Middle East and the Asian region. Christian s experience extends to a wide range of ship finance work including structuring and leading large ship finance transactions, acquisition finance, advisory, operating and finance lease solutions and finance restructures. Christian holds a business degree from University of Münster in Germany. He recently completed an Executive MBA at the Nanyang Business School. Wong Kok Fai, Training Manager & Senior Navigation Instructor for Navigation, Kongsberg Maritime Pte Ltd, Kok Fai is a former Republic of Navy officer. His career spanned 21 years of naval service, including promotion to Commanding Officer. Later, Kok Fai was appointed as a naval instructor specialising in navigation and electronic warfare. He joined Kongsberg Maritime in 2008 and is now their Training Manager and Senior Navigation Instructor. His remit includes the IMO STCW ECDIS Model Course 1.27, the Kongsberg ECDIS Familiarisation Course the and Kongsberg Navigation Simulator Course. Kok Fai also travels extensively to provide Kongsberg training courses in Norway, Korea, Philippines, China, Indonesia, Australia, Brunei, Myanmar, Taiwan and Nigeria. Dave Wisse, Contract Manager, SMIT's Salvage, Dave was appointed to the role of Salvage Contract Manager at SMIT Pte Ltd. in 2014. Before this, Dave was part of the Commercial Team at the SMIT Salvage Headquarters in The Netherlands.
