The heart of your blog is your content What you say is more important than it looks 1. Who is your audience? 2. Who is your competition for your audience s attention? 3. What goals are you trying to achieve? 4. Have you set your metrics for measuring those goals

It doesn t matter how often you choose to blog but you must be consistent about it. How often depends on your ambition and your calendar. DON T SET UNDELIVERABLE GOALS!

Consider topics and how much attention each topic deserves Have a mix of long and short articles Make some of them timely Create some meaty posts and some humorous posts Invite guest bloggers

Most blogs are text- heavy Spice up your blog with images or imbed video

Say what you need to say and get out! Keep the Miniskirt Theory in mind Good writing should be like a skirt: Long enough to cover subject, but short enough to stay interesting.

Make the CTA headline match your landing page

Do not play to the spammers or trolls Moderation is not editing- do not edit the comments, even if you disagree

Blogging is all about casual and being authentic. Write the way you speak but be sure to edit. You do not need pristine grammar be friendly and accessible- HUMAN!

You do not need the entire balanced story It s okay to leave room for the opinions for others- you want the engagement from your audience Fun blogging fact- The Huffington Post is a blog that transformed itself into a media empire!

1. Post your catchy title- Using the F Word to Maximize Your Business 2. First sentence- This is your hook or ask a question- Not that F word! The new F word- Fail. Why do you need to fail to make your business better? 3. Next Paragraph- Answer the question 4. List your key points- Either in bullet form or paragraph form 5. Include an image 6. Close with a question- Invites engagement and comments

Don t talk excessively about your company or your products Everything you post should fall into three categories Resource Information How can I make the lives of my readers better or easier

Should I do that? Your blog should reflect your authentic and unique personalityadd anything that makes you feel good that you want to share with your readers and your niche
