Tarek Ayoub Business Consultant & Project Manager, World-Direct Tarek Ayoub has been a Business Consultant and Project Manager at World-Direct since September 2009. In 2010 he received his diploma for "Management and IT" at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck. At World-Direct he is responsible for software products for the energy sector, which includes products and services in the areas of demand side management, balance group shaving and ancillary services as well as energy management systems for micro grids. In various customer projects for example together with utilities in- and outside of Austria as well as in the field of product developments for hard- and software sector Tarek Ayoub could prove his abilities in consulting, project management and implementation monitoring. Peter Käfer Founder & CEO, meo Energy Peter Käfer is CEO of meo Energy. This startup has developed an innovative system, fully-automatically managing all energy flows heat and power in households. All power sources and consumers can be combined and optimized on one platform. Meo Energy has also won a variety of innovation prizes such as the national prize, Smart Grid Pioneer 2016 of the BMVIT (Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology) as well as the Innovation Challenge Smart Energy of Salzburg AG. Alexander Friedrich Founder & CEO, 3F Solar Alexander Friedrich graduated at the Vienna university of economics and business. Later he starts a PHD bursary and did additional qualification as photovoltaic planer. He quitted his PHD bursary, because he founded 3F Solar Technologies GmbH in 2012. His motivation was to develop hybrid collectors, which produce electricity and heat at the same time. In 2014 3F Solar build up a small production line for hybrid collectors in the Technology Center Aspern IQ. In 2017 3F Solar integrated the production line at the production facility of Gasokol, the second largest producer of thermal collectors in Austria. With this production partner 3F Solar can produce in bigger quantity. 3F Solar implemented and installed several energy systems for familiy houses, office buildings and also autarkic buildings. These holistic energy systems driven by renewable energies are also the main focus in the near future. Challenge #3: The Integrated Swarm Model
Andrej F. Gubina Senior Researcher & Head of the Laboratory for Energy Policy Andrej F. Gubina obtained his Ph.D. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, where he was appointed Associate Professor in 2011. In 2000, he was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher of the Energy Laboratory, at MIT. In August 2008, he became a Research Lecturer at the Electricity Research Centre of University College Dublin. He has coordinated a FP6 project VBPC-RES and participated as the Principal Investigator in ten others (FP6, FP7, IEE and H2020). His field of research encompasses Power System Economics and Deregulation, Production Planning under Open Electricity Market Conditions, Risk Management and Asset Management in EPS, Load Forecasting, Demand Side Management, Energy Efficiency of Demand and Renewable Energy Sources integration. He is a guest lecturer on RES integration and policy design in Europe, and holder of technology patents. He is a Senior Member of IEEE PES and Member of CIGRE. Christoph Grimmer Founder & CEO, EET Christoph Grimmer is CEO and founder of E2T, Efficient Energy Technology. The start-up develops a plug&play solar energy solution for the balconies of apartment owners. For his doctoral thesis, he won the Award of Excellence from the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy and the Sponsorship Prize of the Technology and Society Forum in 2016. For his master s thesis, he came second in the Johann Puch Innovation Award 2014. In addition to his start-up, he works at the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology at TU Graz, where he completed his master s and doctoral studies. On top of this, he will finish a master s degree in economic sciences at the University of Hagen. Challenge #5: The Connected Micro Power Plants Model
Karin Fleck Business Developer, Twingz Karin is founder of and owner of a consulting company in the energy industry. At the Austrian startup Twingz she is responsible for business development. She has international leadership experience in energy trading in the field of market access, optimization, forecasting an planning. Karin holds a diploma in chemistry (University of Technology, Vienna) and a PhD in Applied Chemistry (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technolgy). Challenge #6: The Data Driven Business Model
Robert Wagner Founder Regional Energy Cooperatives Robert is founder of Regional Energy - an Austrian based development agency for Regional Energy Communities. He has been holding senior positions at an international IT service providers in the area of business development, R&D and innovation management with focus on the public sector and energy and utilities in Austria, Germany and other European countries. He is associated Partner to the Austrian Blockchain Center and well connected to the Blockchain Community. Challenge #7: The Blockchain Energy Grid Model
