Remarks of the First Regent: Hilary Gripekoven Remarks of the Executive Director, Scott Stroh: Executive Director Scott Stroh introduced his Leadership Team and staff members who were present and informed the Regents of all the activities that have taken place at Gunston Hall since our last meeting. He distributed and explained the new dashboard metrics that will give a visual comprehensive picture of what is happening at Gunston Hall through use of charts and graphs that will be updated monthly. He also distributed the Visitors Count questionnaire for the Visitor s Count Survey Program. It will be used to chart visitors experiences at Gunston Hall to evaluate and monitor our programs effectiveness.

4857 Report of the Budget: Elaine Blaylock and Scott Stroh led a discussion of the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2015. Scott explained the proposed budget and took questions regarding the budget. We are using a new more detailed and comprehensive budget format that is realistic and is designed to align our priorities with our resources. The meeting was recessed until Monday, April 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. CLOSING SESSION APRIL 7, 2014 First Regent Hilary Gripekoven reconvened the meeting at 9:00 a.m. Executive Director Comments: Scott Stroh gave a report on the success of Kite Day, which took place Saturday, April 5, 2014, and for the first time while the Board of Regents was at Gunston Hall. Margery Jenkins moved that the budget be approved as presented. Kandi Osborn seconded the motion. The Board of Regents of Gunston Hall unanimously approved the 2015 fiscal budget. Report of the Secretary: Virginia Snider circulated a card for Anna Bowman, Regent from Hawaii who was unable to attend the meeting. Report of the Governance Committee: Chair Tia McMillian called for a vote for the adoption of the Amended Bylaws as electronically distributed. The Board of Regents of Gunston Hall unanimously approved the adoption of the Amended Bylaws. Tia McMillian called for a vote on the merger of the Gunston Hall Regents Fund and The Board of Regents of Gunston Hall, Incorporated (BRGHI) as presented. The Board of Regents of Gunston Hall unanimously approved the merger. The surviving entity is The Board of Regents of Gunston Hall, Incorporated.

4859 Former Regents Advisory Committee: Carolyn Abshire reported that the committee is now a Standing Committee of BRGHI, to advise the Board and will expand its number of members. They hope to have a luncheon for all former First Regents of Gunston Hall in the mansion while it is empty during the replacement of the roof. First Regent Hilary Gripekoven commended The Arrangement Committee for a wonderful job done at our semi-annual meeting.
