02 SATELLITE SOLUTIONS FOR CENTRAL EASTERN EUROPE

03 TAILORED SATELLITE SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR REGION in a number of countries, accelerating the deployment of digital infrastructure and providing proven economies of scale for our customers. Apostolos TRIANTAFYLLOU Senior Vice-President Sales DACH, CE Europe, Caucasus & Central Asia Central Eastern Europe (CEE) is a very important market for Eutelsat. The region is rich in linguistic and cultural diversity, has varying degrees of economic development and large expatriate communities living in many Western European countries and beyond. This makes it vital that we approach the region with tailored market solutions. Eutelsat has over 30 years experience of providing satellite services to CEE via several prime orbital neighbourhoods. With particularly strong market positions in various countries, our multinational and experienced staff are well suited to deal with the specific local and regional issues of CEE. We are actively cooperating with most of the leading companies in the region and are helping them implement their innovative digital solutions. In satellite broadcasting, we have experienced strong growth in the number of TV channels across all our leading DTH neighbourhoods serving the region (9, 13 and 16 East). In addition, our satellites are being used to feed programming to cable networks and actively contribute to the DTT rollout s s s s s s s s s s s s ss s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s 0 0 s s s s s s s s s s s ss s

05 Broadcast and media solutions SPACE FOR ALL DIGITAL FORMATS Central Eastern Europe is a dynamic broadcasting region. It was among the first to adopt digital satellite transmission and both incumbent and new Direct-to-Home (DTH) operators are currently transitioning from standard to high definition format to enhance the consumer s viewing experience and choice of programmes. Terrestrial, cable and IPTV providers, despite being limited by analogue technology, lack of funding to ensure geographical reach and insufficient network capacity to introduce HDTV, are following their lead. Satellites play a key role in these developing markets, as the fastest and most efficient route to deliver content directly to homes or to terrestrial head-ends. Eutelsat s satellites are a longstanding part of the infrastructure in CEE. Our company s experience, expertise and innovation are available to media companies operating in this fast-moving environment. LEADING VIDEO HOTSPOTS Our three major video neighbourhoods for the region are: EUTELSAT 16A at 16 East the region s legacy DTH position HOT BIRD at 13 East s s s s EUTELSAT 9 at 9 East s s s CONNECTED TV SERVICES VIA SATELLITE s s s s s s s ur innovative smart LNB s can transform your DTH audiences into fully interactive homes ULTRA HD VIA SATELLITE, HERE AND NOW Eutelsat was the first satellite operator to launch a demonstration Ultra HD (4k) channel in Europe to showcase the stunning viewing experience. We work with partners to develop this high quality technology. Our channels are designed to benefit everyone in the broadcasting chain who wants to acquire expertise in 4k.

SATELLITE SOLUTIONS 08 FOR CENTRAL EASTERN EUROPE GLOBAL NETWORK Global network CONNECTING CEE TO THE WORLD Eutelsat s network of teleports is a powerful tool for connecting the CEE region to the rest of the world. We own and operate teleports in France, Italy, Madeira and Mexico, offering the highest technical and security standards, with a full range of services including video broadcast, content distribution and data services. We also work closely with certified and partner teleport operators to enhance the access to, and coverage of, our network worldwide.
