Stephen Arnold Music to Raffle Off Replica Guitars at PromaxBDA Conferences 05.30.2017 Once again, Stephen Arnold Music has teamed up with PromaxBDA to showcase and giveaway a handful of unique guitars. Arnold, an avid collector, has organized two separate displays for PromaxBDA: The Conference and Station Summit. At PromaxBDA: The Conference, he'll be showing off guitars that are exact replicas of ones that The Beatles played. Arnold had a similar display at last year's Conference and decided he wanted to extend the raffle to West Coasters. "We decided we would pretty much replicate what we did in New York," he said. At Station Summit, Arnold was inspired by a waterproof guitar he ran across and decided to tie the giveaway into the different sections of a newscast for the annual gathering of broadcaster marketers. "It's actually weatherproof because it's all carbon fiber," he said. "Literally, you can play it in the rain.
In addition to the weather segment, he sought other guitars to match up with news blocks including politics, morning shows, investigative reporting and sports, and even threw in a guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen. The theme is also in line with his company's multi-platform image campaign "I'm Weather Ready," a turnkey weather marketing package for local TV stations. The toolkit includes an original song and video campaign that stations can customize using their own footage and marketing assets. Replicas of other guitars played by the Fab Four also will be on display. 1959 Gibson Jumbo J-160e This is a replica of one of the guitars John Lennon chose to play, and was used to record the song "Love Me Do," among others. This is one of the first acoustic-electric models Gibson produced. Arnold purchased it from the original owner, with a $155 receipt still in the case. Hofner Violin Beatle Bass - Available to Win A lucky winner will walk away with this Paul McCartney favorite, which provided an extra punch to his bright, melodic and rhythmic patterns. Hofner, a well-known German guitar-maker, introduced McCartney's "violin bass" in the late '50s.
