Cooke Precast Concrete
INSPECTION OPENINGS History Cooke Precast Concrete Pty. Ltd. commenced business in September 1996, with a staff combining together bringing many decades of knowledge and experience within the precast concrete, transport and specialists in the drainage industries. Operations The Company manufactures from a factory at Edinburgh North, South Australia, with an extensive range of slip moulds for precast production in the drainage field, numerous moulds for sumps, side entry pits, inspection openings and cable pits. Cooke Precast Concrete can provide a large range of access cover products in addition to septic tanks, car park and domestic products. With our own large concrete batching facility we are able to produce consistent mixes as well as the special design batches like calcareous aggregate, fondag, coloured and high strength concrete. With the opening of our G.R.C. (Glass Reinforced Concrete) division in July 2000 our flexibility to supply all types of product is now complete. Commercial Cooke Precast are suppliers to Local Government, State and Federal Authorities and being a Quality Endorsed Company to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 we can comfortably perform to the required standards. Industrial With our vast range we supply to Civil / Drainage and Electrical Contractors, Plumbers and Builders for projects ranging from housing development to new airports, or motels to take-away shops. We are proud manufacturers of a modular Pumping Station System (sizes up to 3200mm internal diameter) which are custom made and supplied throughout Australia and shipped to New Zealand. Domestic what is CONCRETE? Lifting Clutches Concrete s origin can be traced back to the Mediterranean in early Roman times where deposits of volcanic ash (with its cement like properties) were used primarily as a masonry jointing material. However the early Roman method was not with-out it s problems, as they had not attempted to reinforce it to overcome its inherent tensional weakness. The use of metal as reinforcement was not done until as late as the 1850 s in France. Apart from the use of modern day admixtures, mixing a selection of aggregate, sand, cement with water to create concrete, or reinforced concrete is not much different today as compared to the early French version. Sizes used 1.3 Tonne 2.5 Tonne 5.00 Tonne 10.00 Tonne why use PRECAST CONCRETE? All CPC products requiring lifting points are manufactured with spherical head anchors Factory flexibility enables us to produce a full range of septic tank and ancillary products, also paving slabs, a range of walling sleepers and lawn edges for parks and gardens. G.R.C. Drainage & Electrical G.R.C. pit and linear drainage products are lightweight yet with the strength stronger than concrete. Cooke Precast produces a full range of easy to handle pits suited for both the electrical and drainage industry. Along with the linear drainage channel system (Rapid channel) being available ex stock with a choice of covers or gratings we can supply a lightweight alternative to complement our catalogue. Quality Design Intensely vibrated precast concrete structures made in a factory controlled environment are generally superior compared to that attained under general site conditions. Concrete cover to steel reinforced to suit specification is achieved to a higher standard in a precast mould compared to insitu offerings. Each precast pit is individually manufactured to the client s requirements. Penetrations and exact heights are incorporated directly from engineering plans to create a custom built pit where needed. A full range of access covers or gratings are offered to finish the project as specified. Timing Efficiency Precast product can be delivered to site when site conditions and / or the contractor are ready. Being already cured, therefore finished product is capable of immediate use and acceptance of design load. Quick installation will result in reduced time spent on the job for both plant and labour. Excavations are open for less time, while immediate back-fill and clean up can be carried out as one continuous operation thus eliminating the on-going and costly return operations. Safety Open excavations are dangerous and costly. With short installation times, personnel in deep excavations along with barricading and safety equipment / supervision are reduced to a minimum. Precast is an essential product for pedestrian access areas where same day job completion can be achieved. Agencies Cooke Precast are proud to be the sole South Australian agent for HAVESTOCK cast-iron access covers and grates. Havestock are the largest Australian supplier of Quality Assured cast-iron drainage products made to AS 3996. Cooke Precast hold a large quantity of Havestock access covers and gratings at our Elizabeth plant ready for immediate delivery. Economical Precast pits are more economical when compared to insitu. With a stricter control of raw material quantities, labour and the ability to reuse factory mouldings, this makes the precast product a far cheaper item.
