You can choose to have a full time advocate to help you with all aspects of your money, or you could choose to have a one off Money Check. We can set up a combination of support that is right for you. After all, it is your money; it should be spent your way.

Person Centred Appointeeship An appointee is someone that you have asked to manage your benefits on your behalf. They will help you to: talk to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) about your benefits and sort out any problems on your behalf. make sure you get all the benefits you are entitled to. report any changes that we know about to the DWP. This could help you avoid getting a fine or having to pay money back in the future. set up a separate account for your benefits to be paid. Who is this for? This is a good option for people who cannot manage their own benefits. Would you like more information about Person Centred Appointeeship? Call us on 0300 303 1288

How we have helped people Claiming the right benefits We started supporting someone and found they were not getting the right amount of benefit. As appointees, we talked to the DWP on their behalf. They are now receiving the correct benefit payments and received 1500 in backdated payments. Budgeting We have supported people to spend their money on the things they enjoy. One person has been able to go horse riding after her advocate helped her to plan her weekly budget. Support for families Sometimes families begin to struggle with managing their son or daughter s money. We have worked alongside families to provide more support and guidance and in some cases have taken on the role of appointee.
