SHOOTING GLASSES THE SPLIT SECOND DIFFERENCE A hundredth of a second can mean a lot in competitive shooting. For trap and skeet shooters fast spotting of the target and superb eye and trigger co-ordination are essential for a high score. Tests have shown that consistent good performance by a shooter is acheived by using shooting glasses with an interchangable colour vision enhancing lens/filter system to cater for changing light and background conditions. THE SHOOTER S ANSWER TO BETTER VISION FRAME Lightweight spring monel, black coated, ECR80 (Extreme Corrosion Resistant) black anti-reflection finish. All frames are also available with spring-hinged temples. Frames with cable temples also have large sweatbars which stop the frame from touching the face thus preventing fogging of the lenses. NOSE PADS Non allergenic extra large pads which are adjustable to height and fit. To lower glasses, push pads outwards, for a higher position push pads inwards.it is possible to bend both pad arms in the same direction thus moving the frame horizontally either left or right. The HY-LO model has an additional 12 mm height adjustment through its sliding bridge.
LENSES Hardened Poly Carbonate Plano Lenses are normally supplied - they are recommened where Eye Safety is an important factor because of their superior impact resistance. As an alternative, where optical quality is more important than impact resistance, CR39 Plano Lenses can be supplied. Both types of lenses are absorbing Ultra Violent in the critical range below 400nm and help protect your eyes from the potentially damaging effects of UV Radiation. All lenses are tested continually, with records maintained to ensure compliance with the strict standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A. 801-410 code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 21), e.g. the lenses must withstand the impact of a 5/8 steel ball falling free from 50 inches. Note: Impact Resistant lenses are neither shatter proof nor unbreakable. These glasses are not industrial safety glasses, nor are they recommended for IPSC Shooting. CHANGING THE LENSES Remove the lenses with care. Always take a firm grip on the lens with one hand and relaese spring pressure by pulling out the temple end frame away from lens with other hand. When inserting lenses always place the nasal notch into position first and then bring lens up to nasal notch. It is advisable to pull temple notch out away from lens as you bring lens into position to eliminate excess wear on the lens notch. The lens should always be held at their edges to avoid finger print marks on the lens. Lenses change easily but notch-lock firmly into place. RX ( PRESCRIPTION) SPORTS GLASSES The HY-LO Frame with its sliding bridge for vertical adjustment for height and proper focusing is the ideal solution for a person who wants to wear one pair of glasses for all situations. These HY-LO Frames with either clear or coloured lenses of your choice to your prescription.
FILTER COLOURS For the best possible results, lenses should be used as follows: #1 BRIGHT YELLOW - To highlight targets in dull or overcast, fog or rainy conditions. (do not use as nightdriving glasses) #2 PALE YELLOW - is particularly suited for late afternoon shooting or as an alternative to Bright Yellow. #3 VERMILLION - for Orange/Red/Fluro and colour banded clay tar gets and for better in-depth perception when rifle or pistol shooting. #4 ORANGE - for highlighting targets and for use at dawn or dusk. Also good for hunting in scrub or brush. #4A ORANGE/YELLOW - half density of Orange. Similar uses. #5 ORANGE/RED - 50% darker than Orange. Similar uses also particularly well suited for hunting in bright day light in scrub or brush. #6 PURPLE - for dampening green background and highlighting Orange or Black targets. #6A PURPLE DARK - 10% darker than Purple. Similar uses recommened for very sunny days. #7 MAUVE - For highlighting Orange and Black with a Red colour tinge for added contrast. #7A MAUVE DARK - For similar uses to purple with a red tinge for extra contrast. Suited to brighter conditions. #8 ROSE - The Red/Pink colour tinge gives additional contrast for highlighting red or black clays. #8A ROSE DARK - Same density as Pyrple Dark. Excellent choice on sunny days for clay target shooting or hunting. #9 LAVENDER - For overcast or low light contitions. #9A LAVENDER DARK - Same density as Mauve Dark. Suited for highlighting Orange and Black clays. #10 GOLD - Recommended for sunny conditions has good contrast. #11 BRONZE - For use as a sunlens. It has excellent contrasting properties and can be used on clays in simulated field and game. #12 CLEAR - UV Filter only #13 GREY - Sunlens #14 BROWN - Sunlens #16 POLARIZED - Brown or Grey #17 BLUE - ideal for indoor pistol shooting helps defuse flurocent light.
