SFR6S/25/25H Standard Metal Film Resistors FEATURES Low cost Low noise Small size (SFR6S) A homogeneous film of metal alloy is deposited on a high grade ceramic body. After a helical groove has been cut in the resistive layer, tinned connecting leads of electrolytic copper are welded to the end-caps. The resistors are coated with a colored lacquer (light-blue for type SFR6S; light-green for type SFR25 and red-brown for type ) which provides electrical, mechanical and climatic protection. The encapsulation is resistant to all cleaning solvents, in accordance with MIL-STD-22E, method 25, and IEC 668-245. Lead (Pb)-free solder contacts Pure tin plating provides compatibility with lead (Pb)-free and lead containing soldering processes Compatible with Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive 22/95/EC (issue 24) APPLICATIONS General purpose resistors TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION VALUE SFR6S SFR25 Resistance range ± 5 %; Ω to3mω ± 5 %;.22 Ω to MΩ ± %; ± %; Ω to MΩ 4.99 Ω to 3 MΩ jumper ( Ω) jumper ( Ω) Resistance tolerance Temperature coefficient: ± %, E24/E96 series; ± 5 %, E24 series R<4.7Ω ± 25-6 /K ± -6 /K ± -6 /K 4.7 Ω R kω ± -6 /K ± -6 /K ± -6 /K kω <R MΩ ± 25-6 /K ± -6 /K ± -6 /K R>MΩ ± 25-6 /K ± 25-6 /K ± 25-6 /K Absolute maximum dissipation at T amb = 7 C.5 W.4 W.5 W Thermal resistance, R th 7 K/W 2 K/W 5 K/W Maximum permissible voltage 2 V 25 V 35 V Noise: R<68kΩ max.. µv/v max.. µv/v max.. µv/v 68 kω R kω max..5 µv/v max.. µv/v max.. µv/v kω R MΩ max..5 µv/v max.. µv/v max.. µv/v R>MΩ max..5 µv/v max..5 µv/v max..5 µv/v Basic specifications IEC 65- and 65-2 Climatic category (IEC 668) 55/55/56 Stability, R/R max., after: load: R range ± 2 % +.5 Ω ± 2 % +.5 Ω ± 2 % +.5 Ω climatic tests: R MΩ ± % +.5 Ω ± % +.5 Ω ± % +.5 Ω R>MΩ ± % +.5 Ω ± % +.5 Ω ± 2 % +. OUTLINES The length of the body (L ) is measured by inserting the leads into holes of two identical gauge plates and moving these plates parallel to each other until the resistor body is clamped without deformation ( IEC publication 6294 ). FUNCTIONAL PERFORMANCE PRODUCT CHARACTERIZATION Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E96/E24 series for resistors with a tolerance of ± % or ± 5 %. The values of the E96/E24 series are in accordance with IEC publication 663. LIMITING VALUES TYPE LIMITING VOLTAGE ) (V) Note. SFR6S/25/25H Standard Metal Film Resistors TESTS AND REQUIREMENTS Essentially all tests are carried out in accordance with the schedule of IEC publication 65-, category 55/55/56 (rated temperature range - 55 C to + 55 C; damp heat, long term, 56 days). The testing also covers the requirements specified by EIA and EIAJ. The tests are carried out in accordance with IEC publication 668-2, Recommended basic climatic and mechanical robustness testing procedure for electronic components and under standard atmospheric conditions according to IEC 668-, subclause 5.3. In the Test Procedures and Requirements table the tests and requirements are listed with reference to the relevant clauses of IEC publications 65- and 668-2 ; a short description of the test procedure is also given. In some instances deviations from the IEC recommendations were necessary for our method of specifying.
