APPENDIX A PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE FOR MARY WEITZEL AS DAUGHTER OF ELIZABETH CLINE: War Losses Claims for Elizabeth Cline stes th she is now married to John Nicholas Weizel Hessian Research on Nicholas Weitzel, Book "Building our Pedigree", 1980, published by Ida Florence Wright Crozier, Part II, p.16: Nicholas Weitzel, Sr, was born in Germany, he had come to the U.S.A., was of the Moravian faith, and a soldier in the English army during the Revolutionary War. His wife was born in Germany, her name Elizabeth Kline. He remained of the Moravian faith throughout his life. Nicholas Weitzel, the Senior and Elizabeth settled near Kingston, Ontario, on free land, after his discharge in 1783 Pointe Levis. In addition to the land which he accepted as part payment of his services, the government owed him f.188 14s.4d, all of which was forwarded to him from London. Here he spent the remainder of his life, although he died in Oswego County, N.Y. where he had gone to purchase some necessities. He had three children: Nicholas born 1784, Mary who married Joshua Pollard, Peel County, Ontario, and Mrs. Allen McDougall of Saltfleet, Wentworth Coutny, Ontario. (The book gives the complete line of descendents up to 1980)
