February DEMONSTRATION Cecy Turner Our February demonstrator was One of Our Own, Cecy Turner, whose oils and watercolors have been gracing our exhibits for years. Help Wanted RCAS uses computer software in their support of the membership, YPS, 50+, and regional shows as well as the yearbook. We need to expand the number of people supporting this effort. Applicants need to have Microsoft Office Professional software on their computers. Actual software used is Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher (optional), Power Point, and Access, but level of expertise is normally limited to slightly above entry level. (For example, Access use involves filling in forms and requesting reports but not form, table, query, or report modification. Power Point involves creating very simple slide shows of the regional show entries.) 4 She mesmerized us with her wet-into-wet approach and the non-stop revelation of her thought process as she guided us through the evolution of her rendition of a canal in Venice from a picture she had taken from a gondola. She charmed us with her finely-honed expertise. Her words of advice: Think before painting. Plan ahead. Full training, application software, extensive documentation, and support will be provided at no cost. This unpaid job could provide an artist s spouse with a wonderful way to be an active part of RCAS without having to be a graphic artist. If interested, please call (972 231-5029) or email (john_cheney@sbcglobal.net) John Cheney for further details
