Function he following description of the unit s function refers to the strtup nd supervision of single urner. With multiflme supervision, ll urners connected to the control unit re put into opertion nd supervised simultneously in the sme mnner. A fult cusing lockout of one of the urners therefore results in the shutdown of ll urners. rerequisite for the immedite restrt of the non-fulty urners is the ridging of the flme sfegurd of the fulty urner y mens of n operting switch. his switch must simultneously cut ll control lines to the ignition trnsformer nd the fuel vlves. For connection exmples, refer to the Dt Sheet on the LAE10 / LFE10. rerequisites for urner strtup he urner strts only if: - he unit s switching sequence is in the strt position - he control unit is not in the lockout position, e.g. due to fulty UV tue - he contcts of ll the control nd sfety devices in the control loop etween terminl 8 nd 9 re closed - he ir pressure switch does not indicte ny ir pressure if connected in the test circuit Strtup sequence... Fults in the flme sfegurd or in the control unit prevent strtup or led to lockout during strtup. If the ir dmper is not controlled y the control unit, terminls 20, 21 nd 22 must e interconnected.... on strtup First, the fn motor is switched on vi terminl 3 nd the ctutor is controlled vi terminl 22. When the ir dmper reches its fully open position, the progrmming mechnism of the unit strts to run the prepurge time commences. he minimum ir pressure set on the ir pressure switch must then e reched within 10 seconds (or within 7 seconds in opertion with postpurging) nd must e mintined until controlled shutdown occurs. Otherwise, lockout will tke plce. A flme signl during the prepurge time lso leds to lockout. On completion of the set prepurge time, the ir dmper is given the control commnd to return to the minimum ir position. During the ir dmper s closing time, the progrmming mechnism does not move. As soon s the signl contct for the minimum throttling position is operted y the ctutor, the progrmming mechnism strts gin nd now controls the progrm sequence which cn no longer e influenced from outside. - reignition (provided the ignition equipment ws not lredy switched on during the prepurge time) - Relese of the 1st fuel vlve connected to terminl 5 (the fuel vlve of pilot urner which must e closed on completion of the 2nd sfety time must, however, e connected to terminl 10) - he set sfety time elpses. If no flme is estlished during tht period of time, lockout will e initited (control unit lwys locks itself) - On completion of n intervl of 11 seconds fter the relese of the 1st vlve, the 2nd fuel vlve will e relesed - he pilot urner if present is switched off (connected to terminl 10) - he lod controller is switched on fter further intervl of 12 seconds. Now the urner hs reched its operting position. From now on, the lod controller controls the urner s output y either incresing or decresing the fuel throughput nd the ir volume depending on het demnd (fuel / ir rtio control). his cn e ccomplished in stges, i.e. y mens of thermostts or continuously (modulting) y modulting controller Loss of flme during opertion lwys leds to lockout of the urner. 7/17

Burner strtup with ignition sprk proving In principle, the progrm sequence is the sme s with urner strtup without ignition sprk proving. Exceptions: - If the UV flme detector does not receive ny input signl during the short preignition time (UL2 on «Short preignition»), lockout occurs efore ny gs is relesed, i.e. sfety time SA = 0 seconds - With ignition sprk proving, the sfety time for the pilot urner cn only e djusted etween 0... seconds (in the time digrm of the progrmming mechnism: SA ) ontrol sequence... rogrm indictor... fter controlled shutdown ontrolled shutdown occurs s soon s one one of the control or supervision devices in the control loop etween terminl 8 nd 9 opens its contct. In tht cse, the fuel vlves will immeditely e shut. he progrmming mechnism strts gin nd now progrms postpurging, if required. On completion of the postpurge time, the progrmming mechnism hs gin reched its strt position where it remins until the next switch on commnd is received. he flme supervision restrts gin during the postpurge time. herefore, ny flme signl during tht period of time will led to lockout.... fter resetting the LE1... After pressing the uilt-in or the externl lockout reset utton, the progrmming mechnism will return to its strt position. he only urner plnt component tht is operted during tht period time is fn motor connected to terminl 17. As the control thermostt or pressurestt normlly continues to cll for het, the progrmming mechnism will initite restrt fter reching the strt position. After the djustment, the fixing screws of the cms must e tightened very crefully to mke ny unintentionl redjustment impossile. 771p07/129 Ignition sfety time «SA» (Opertion with ignition sprk proving) - Loosen the fixing screws of cms N2 nd N3 - Hold cm N1 firmly nd lign the setting mrk of cm N2 with the corresponding time mrk I of cm N1 (see illustrtion nd tle, intermedite positions possile). Lock cm N2 - Rotte cm N3 in such wy tht its setting mrk is set ginst the lower stop of cm N2. Lock cm N3 - heck the djusted sfety time nd set the new vlue on the rting plte of the unit cover (djustment slot t the rer of the cover) 1st sfety time «SA» (Opertion with ignition sprk proving) - Loosen the fixing screws of cms N2 nd N3 - Hold cm N1 firmly, set the setting mrk of cm N2 to the time mrk I of cm N1 (see illustrtion nd tle).
