Gives me a chance to express myself in a very unique way through coloring of cute "old South" sayings and sass that I will not be embarrassed to have others see. Drawings are on black paper with a chalkboard look to it. The sayings are ones I've heard my whole life (having grown up in the South) like "Madder Than a Wet Hen" or Hey Shug" and "She's Nuttier Than a Squirrel" and lastly "Never Trust a Skinny Cook", 32 of them in all. The paper itself is nice and thick and should not bleed through with normal markers or gel pens, but do insert card stock or cardboard behind the picture you are working on anyway to keep the following page from being dented or impressions being left. The pages are single sided and are not perforated, however there
is enough of a margin that they could be carefully removed from the book without damaging the picture. Each of the sayings is surrounded with wreath shaped flowers & leaves that have a little bit of pre-shading to them, which makes this a great book for beginner colorists as there is nothing too challenging and yet are going to end up as stunning pictures worth framing. Spiritual Coloring Book & Zen Coloring Book) This coloring book is a liitle different because the background is like a chalkboard (the color) so I must admit I was skeptical but once I started getting some color on the paper I loved the way it made the different colors really pop and stand out! Also with these coloring books you also have the sarcastic, snarky comments which adds a little fun to it! I use colored pencils with my picture and they work great on the paper. My only issue, which isn't major, is I wish the psges were perforated so you could tear them out with ease and without ruining the picture.i was provided this book as a free sample in exchange for my honest review. Oh my word this book is adorable.it is a chalk board coloring book meaning it has a chalk board look... It is set on black paper instead of the normal white. It is actually a cool effect and really does kind of seem like a chalk board.the adorable part is that you are actually coloring a bunch of southern sayings. Like bless your heart and ain't you a sight for sore eyes. The sayings are then surrounded by flowers or flourishes and things to color.the whole book is down right different and in a good way. I find adult coloring to be such stress relief and even more so coloring sayings that make your heart smile. This became one of my favorite coloring books very quickly and I don't want to put it down. My kids are away for a few days and k need to hurry and color it before they get hone and find it. I love how itâ s a chalkboard style book; I have never had one of those before. Itâ s very different and thatâ s what makes it more fun and interesting. Iâ m not southern but I thought it was cute anyways. I like how itâ s set on black paper instead of usual white paper; it makes it a little more
interesting. I have never colored with a black background before so I am not sure what kinds of mediums I would use to color but I think I will start with colored pencils, markers might be harder to use. The book is single sided which is great so that your colorings will not bleed into the other side of the page. You can either color inside the book or tear it out to color elsewhere. The book is paperback which I think makes it easier to color because the book is more flexible than a hard covered book would be. I think because the background is black the coloring you do will stick out more as opposed to a white background. Overall I think the art is very nice and the book itself is pretty hilarious. I received this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased review. This coloring book is so much fun!! First of all, I love the chalkboard style. It really is great for gel pens or markers, but also good for pencils or whatever you prefer to color with. The pictures and sayings are so cute and funny! I just love them all. The paper quality is excellent, and the pictures are only printed on one side of the paper which is definitely what I prefer. The black chalky background really brings out the picture once it is colored and bright or neon colors look phenomenal. This books is just a lot of fun to color and great for relaxing and stress relieving.
