This amount is based on the total amount of the fi nal bid and is then added to all invoices. Any prices listed are only estimates and may refl ect other degrees of preservation. As there are no pre-set reserve bids in this auction, you may bid higher or lower. Please note all auction lots are available for your viewing at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Auction begins at 12:30 p.m. Lots may also be examined during the auction. Michael Aron Rare Coins Auction 143 Page 1

Van Nuys Masonic Hall, 14750 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, Calif. 2 1/2 blocks east of the 405 Freeway; 1/2 block west of Van Nuys Boulevard Terms of Sale 1. This is a public auction sale held in Van Nuys, California by a licensed and bonded auction company. 2. The lots described in this catalog contain the property of multiple consignors and may include consignments from Michael Aron Rare Coins ( M.A.R.C. ) or their employees. 3. A Buyer s Commission of ten percent (10%) on each lot will be added to all purchases made by bidders, and will be based on the total amount of the final bid. 4. Although there are no preset reserves or minimum bids in this sale, consignors may be permitted to bid on their own lots. In all cases, a commission would be charged for any reacquisitions. 5. Grading is an art and not a science. BECAUSE GRADING IS SUBJECTIVE IN NATURE AND NO TWO PEOPLE OR SERVICES WILL ALWAYS GRADE THE SAME COIN ALIKE, YOU SHOULD RELY ON YOUR EXAMINATION OF THE LOTS OFFERED IN THIS SALE AND NOT ON THE GRADE INDICATED IN THIS CATALOG. CONSIGNOR MAY HAVE DETERMINED GRADE IN CATALOG. We accept no liability whatsoever for the grade or descriptions offered in this catalog. Standards for grading have varied over given periods of time, depending on changing market conditions, and will probably do so in the future. M.A.R.C. places no value or future potential on the coins in this sale. 6. Lots are not sold on approval. All material is on display before and during the auction. Bidders are encouraged to inspect any and all items of interest prior to bidding as all sales are final. 7. Auctioneer is not responsible for errors in bidding. Because other bidders and consignors are present, the winning bidder is unconditionally bound to pay for the lot, even if the bidder has made a mistake. 8. Floor bidders must register and secure a bid number as they enter the hall before lot viewing. Those awarded lots may pick them up at any time during the sale, but all transactions must be completed at the conclusion of the auction. 9. Lots are on display at the Auction Hall from 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the sale and may be examined both preceding and during the auction. 10. Sales tax will be charged where applicable. Existing California sales and use tax law exempts bulk sales (one thousand dollars or more) of numismatic coins from this tax. The Buyer s Fee (10%) is part of the purchase price and is either subject to the sales tax or to the bulk sales exemption. 11. Every item in this catalog is guaranteed to be genuine. This is a limited warranty that the item sold is not counterfeit, and that its date or mintmark has not been altered. Any other warranty is expressly disclaimed. MARC OFFERS NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY THAT A COIN HAS OR HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED, THAT ANY TONING IS NATURAL OR ARTIFICIAL. OR THAT ANY COIN WILL MEET THE STANDARDS OR GRADE OF ANY THIRD PARTY GRADING SERVICE. A statement concerning this is a matter of opinion only. 12. Auctioneer shall have the right to immediately rescind any lot offered should a dispute arise during the sale of a lot, and put the lot up for sale again. In all cases, Auctioneer s decision shall be final. Auctioneer may reduce mail bids, or floor offers to the established bidding increments. All mail bids must be in even dollar amounts. 13. Mail bids will be executed at no more than 5% to 10% over the second highest mail bid received. Bid the maximum you are willing to pay and in some cases you will be awarded the lot for substantially less than the amount of your bid. Postage, handling and insurance will be added (minimum: $5.00). A deposit of 25% is required from mail bidders whom we have had no previous transaction. 14. Terms are pre-approved check, cashier s check, cash, Mastercard, and/or Visa. 15. To be certain your mail bids are recorded, we should receive them no later than Friday, two days prior to the auction. Please send to: M.A.R.C., P 0 Box 4388, San Clemente CA 92674-7388. Our FAX number is 949.489.8233. Deadline for FAX bidding is 3:00 p.m. Saturday, one day prior to the auction. 16. Prices listed are estimates only. They are intended only as an indication of approximate current market trends. Higher or lower prices may prevail. 17. Purchaser hereby agrees that any dispute arising shall be litigated exclusively in the courts of the State of California, and not elsewhere, regardless of any party s current or future residence or domicile within six months of the final sale date. Purchaser further agrees that venue shall be in the Superior Court for Orange County, in the State of California. 18. Bidding in this sale constitutes acceptance by the bidder of all the foregoing terms and conditions of sale. Page 2 Michael Aron Rare Coins Auction 143

TWENTY CENT PIECES 217 Choice 1875-S Twenty cent piece Bright luster with great eye appeal! One of the most unusual and short lived denominations ever coined by the U.S. mint. MS61 724 1909/8 Saint Gaudens $20 overdate Subdued luster, with clean fields and devices. Both the regular 1909 as well as the 1909/8 are scarce in choice grade. This variety was the result of using both 1909 and 1908 hubs on a single working die blank, probably during late 1908 when working dies were being prepared for both years. Higher grade Gem examples are priced in COINValues at $50,000. 725 1910 Saint Gaudens. PCGS MS62 726 1913 Saint Gaudens $20 Nicely struck with attractive fields and rims. Rich, original mint frost remains undisturbed without any noticeable impairments. Second year of the 48 star obverse following the admission of New Mexico and Arizona in 1912.
