Section 1 Introduction About this User Manual The following user manual fully describes the operation of Pointstreak s game recording software for the touch-screen terminal or laptop-based software, also known as Pointstreak s Electronic Gamesheet. The purpose of this user manual is to instruct scorekeepers on how to operate the terminal/laptop as well as for those who would be training scorekeepers on how to use the system. More information can be found on Pointstreak s website at: www.pointstreak.com/support What is Pointstreak? Pointstreak.com 1 Inc. is the creator of the "Electronic Gamesheet System", a cuttingedge service that essentially replaces paper gamesheets with electronic touch-screen terminals or laptop/pc computers. Pointstreak uses wireless or hardwired, touch-screen terminals or laptop/pcs to collect game information at various hockey surfaces and then uses the Internet to display this information on any computer in the world in real-time. Pointstreak's system eliminates the data-entry of paper gamesheets and provides players, parents, coaches, scorekeepers, league administrators, rink operators and governing bodies real-time access to important game information. Section 2 Basic Operations Game information is recorded into the Pointstreak Electronic Gamesheet terminal/laptop by either pressing one of the control buttons on the terminal/laptop or by touching a field on the screen 2. Team rosters, player positions, goal and penalty data are all recorded by touching the corresponding fields on the screen and selecting the appropriate data from the displayed drop-down menus. New player information, game clock times, game notes, and game event edits require data entry (see below). If using the touch-screen terminal, when touching the screen, use your finger or a retractable pen with the ink-tip retracted. Note: DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN WITH THE INK TIP OF A PEN. This will damage the screen. 2 Note: touching the screen and clicking on the screen can be used interchangeably depending on whether you are using the touch-screen terminal or laptop/pc software. www.pointstreak.com 3 Toll-free 1.866.734.3585

If the power is turned off: Reconnect the power. The terminal/laptop returns to the same screen that was displayed when the power was disconnected. If communication is down: See Section 10 Communication Problems. Section 10 Communication Problems Depending on the reliability of your Internet network, you may occasionally have communication errors reported by the terminal/laptop. This essentially means that the terminal/laptop is not getting a proper connection to the Internet and therefore cannot send or receive data. When the terminal/laptop tries to receive data, it will display the following message: Fetching data from server. If the terminal/laptop does not have an Internet connection at that moment, it will respond with the following message: Communications Error 100. The same error message occurs if the terminal/laptop attempts to send data without an Internet connection. Fixing a communications problem The above scenario is known as a communications problem, meaning the terminal/laptop cannot get a connection to the Internet. It is not a serious problem and can be easily fixed by following the steps below: 1. The first time you get a Communications Error 100 message, Cancel out to the intro screen, where you see Pointstreak s logo, and try again. 2. If you still experience communication errors, reboot the terminal/laptop (to reboot the terminal, unplug power to and plug it back in). Wait for the terminal to fully reboot and go through its communication setup. 3. If you still experience communication errors, follow these instructions, depending on whether your system is wireless or hardwired: a. Wireless System i. Reboot the Modem (unplug power and plug it back in). Wait a moment or two. ii. Reboot the wireless gateway(s) (unplug power and plug it back in). Wait a moment or two. A wireless gateway is the piece of equipment that takes the Internet connection from the Modem and broadcasts it over a wireless network; they are usually marked with a Pointstreak sticker. www.pointstreak.com 19 Toll-free 1.866.734.3585

iii. Reboot the terminal(s) (unplug power and plug it back in). b. Hardwired System i. Reboot the Modem (unplug power and plug it back in). Wait a moment or two. ii. Reboot the terminal(s) (unplug power and plug it back in). 4. Other factors to double-check before contacting Pointstreak Support: a. Make sure the network and power cables are securely connected and connected to the right pieces of equipment. b. If other computers on the same network (e.g. office computers, etc) are having troubles connecting to the Internet, then it is likely that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is the source of the problem. Contact the ISP s customer service department to inquire if your service has been interrupted. c. If you on are on wireless system, check to see if 2.4 gigahertz cordless phones are being used anywhere in the same building. 2.4 gigahertz phones are on the same frequency as the wireless gateways and therefore interfere with the terminal s reception. To correct this problem, the 2.4 gigahertz cordless phones cannot be used at the same time as the terminal; or you must replace the 2.4 gigahertz phones with a phone of a different frequency; or you must switch from a wireless system to a hardwired system for Pointstreak s terminal. d. Dial-up Internet connections are notoriously unreliable. If your system is on dial-up, there is a good chance that this is the source of the communications problem. If possible, it is strongly recommended that you get an always on, high-speed Internet connection from a reliable Internet Service Provider. 5. If the above steps still fail to correct the communication errors or if you are experiencing other types of errors, then contact Pointstreak Support by email support@pointstreak.com or by phone 1-866-734-3585. www.pointstreak.com 20 Toll-free 1.866.734.3585
